Should last a long time

The last cartridge we got was not the high yield and it lasted a while. I am expecting this one to not need replacing for quite some time. Tip - switch the printer to "continuous" and it won't try to make you replace it long before it is really empty.

auto power?
I'm looking very seriously at purchasing a Brother Laser printer (B&W) this time, and I'm wondering: do any of these fine printers have an auto-power down after use / power up when needed feature so that it isn't continually running and running and running... while waiting for the next print batch -- saving wear and tear on the hardware, not to mention save on the electric....? If so - which printers do?
OR, would I just have to manually power down when done / power up when needed next time?

It seems to me that the printer does go into a sleep mode between printing jobs
