I bought this item planning to use it as a baby monitor on multiple devices (phones and tablets). It connected and worked fine when hardwired to my home's router but would not maintain a connection when on wi-fi. I looked for online support to see if there was a problem on my end but there was none. I returned the item to the store and bought a Motorola device that worked perfectly.

I liked my first one so much that I bought a second. I love the idea that I have a small device that I can take anywhere and have access to a ton of content as long as I have an internet connection.
With the addition of Vudu compatibility recently, this thing is on it's way to being a must own.

Chromebooks are the real deal

I, like most people, have a google account and enjoy their products. I have been looking into chromebooks since they came out and pulled the trigger when I saw this on sale. I was not disappointed. Sure there are some things you can't do that you need a PC for (torrents, gaming, etc), but the basic uses like web browsing, email, video streaming are there. The battery life is fantastic (8 hours+) and I am amazed at how fast start-up and shutdowns go. Mere seconds!
The only negative I have is the touchpad. It's not the best quality. If it was better, this device is fantastic. Another thing to note is that there is a green light that indicates the laptop is fully charged. This will come on, and the laptop will show 100% fully charged, but it will not actually be fully charged. Battery will drain within 4 hours. I returned my first unit because of this, then the 2nd unit did the same thing. I learned that you need to leave it plugged in another hour or so to fully charge, even after the light turns green. Then you get the full battery life of 8+ hours. Perhaps this can be fixed with a later update? Either way it's not a huge hassle.

There is no Aux audio output jack. It does not connect via bluetooth. It connects to your home's Wi-Fi network the same way a chromecast device does. Having a chromecast is optional, as you can have audio come directly from the Home device, or have it played through a chromecast connected TV.

No, any other services you use with this device would be optional. You can use free Pandora/Spotify/Google Play Music account with it, or a paid subscription, among other services.
