After spending a few days with the Zenbook Flip from ASUS, I'm convinced that it is one of the best laptops on the market.
First, the OLED screen on this 15.6" laptop is something to definitely write home about. The resolution is jaw-dropping. Whether you are streaming content on your favorite app, checking out a 4k video on Youtube, or doing some gaming, you will be incredibly impressed. Here are some of the other things that I liked:
Pros:
- 2 in 1 versatility, allowing the laptop to be used as a touch screen "tablet"
- High quality onboard speakers (Harman Kardon)
- Snappy performance thanks to the i7 CPU and 16 Gigs of RAM
- The 1TB solid state drive had the Flip booting up faster than any PC I've ever owned. Reboots completed during Windows updates were also quick and painless. It almost felt like I was booting up a Chromebook with how fast I was able to get to the desktop screen.
- While this is not a laptop designed for gaming, you can certainly use it to game. The Intel Arc A370M had no trouble playing any title in my Steam library.
- The keyboard layout ASUS chose allowed for a Num pad, which I feel is important for any laptop keyboard. The track pad was also good-sized, very responsive, and comfortable to use.

Sonos has a reputation for some of the best audio products available. They usually come at a high price point, but the Ray is reasonably priced for the audio quality that you get.
Pros:
- Excellent high-end packaging. The Ray is stored safely and securely and comes wrapped in a felt pouch. A digital optical cable is included.
- Top-notch audio quality for ANY purpose (music, movies, TV). You get good bass even without the need for a separate sub-woofer.
- Built-in WiFi. I appreciated this feature when streaming music through various apps. Not having to connect over Bluetooth was nice as you don't have to worry about wandering out of range of the speaker.
- Having audio of such a high quality in a small sized speaker is fantastic for those with limited space in their entertainment center.

Efficient and Quiet Cooling

I live in south Texas and all homes tend to have central air due to the heat we get. But sometimes not all rooms will have equal cooling even with an HVAC system. For instance, my bedroom is right above my non-temperature controlled garage and also faces west. Both of these things cause the room to be much warmer than other rooms and would benefit from a supplemental AC unit in the warmer months of the year, which in Texas, is up to 8 months!
I installed this unit in my bedroom to help with the summer heat and so far it is working just as I had hoped. I no longer need to tax our AC system heavily to keep our entire home cool overnight (downstairs and upstairs) and I expect this to help with our overall electric costs. My point is, that this unit isn't just for folks that don't have AC in their homes, but can also be an excellent supplemental option.
Many consumers might not be familiar with the U-Shaped design of this system. Installation is more complex than with traditional AC units but there are benefits to that. Your window will be nearly all the way closed after install and provides you with some freedom to open the window wider as needed after install. The install can be done solo but I recommend having a second person to help you, especially if you are installing on a second story.
The remote control is a welcome accessory and provides all of the functionality you would want. You don't have to get out of bed if the room is too hot or too cold as you are trying to fall asleep. But with the temp settings, you should be able to keep the room at your favorite temperature all the time. While this unit does not have Wi-Fi, I don't think it would be incredibly useful anyway unless you were looking to "pre-cool" your room/home by turning it on remotely when you are on your way home. One of the best things about this AC unit is how quietly it can cool. The sound does not bother me at all while trying to sleep and you can also hear television over it without difficulty.
I found the price of this AC unit to be a bargain for what you are getting. The cooling was better than expected and I love the installation design. I would definitely recommend this model to anyone in need of some indoor cooling!

Excellent Gaming Monitor

I have had a few days now to put this monitor through its paces and I have been very pleased.
I hooked up my Alienware x17 (running an RTX 3070) to this 27" monitor and the extra 10" of screen real estate was very welcomed. I find 27" to be the "sweet spot" between monitors that are too small or too big for gaming purposes.
I love the design of the monitor base, providing not just a sturdy foundation, but also having a convenient gap to feed cords through to keep your gaming station neat. I don't have a VESA set-up, but it's nice to know that this monitor is designed to be compatible if I do upgrade in the future.
The refresh rate (165Hz) allowed for very smooth visuals on any game I tested within my Steam library. I highly recommend adjusting the color and brightness to meet your personal preferences though, as the defaults are not great.
I also took some time to use this monitor for basic duties like web browsing and streaming video. I'm happy to report that this monitor was more than capable and movies/shows looked terrific. It is safe to say that this monitor will work well for any purpose.
Overall this monitor is a great buy, but especially for gamers. Check it out!

Great features, excellent price point

This is my first fitness tracker and I have been very pleased with its features and functionality.
Part of my hesitancy about using a fitness band was that I don't like bulky watches or anything heavy on my wrist full time that could cause discomfort, especially during sleeping hours. I was pleased that the Halo View has a slim form factor and is extremely light weight. I hardly notice it while sleeping.
Battery life is solid, as I can go about a week in between needing a charge. I'll plug it in when I take a shower and it takes under an hour to top off the battery.
Features that I've enjoyed include:
- detailed reports on your prior nights sleep (what percentage of time did you get REM sleep?)
- the built in stopwatch is very helpful for my kid's soccer practice/games!
- step counter
- heart rate monitor
- estimates on calories burnt in the day

Terrific Picture and Sound Quality

I have used several projectors over the years and projector tech just keeps getting better, improving features and getting more affordable. After using the Epson Home Cinema 2200, I am very pleased with its performance.
Pros:
- The built in Android TV is excellent. Simply log into your google account, install any apps you plan to use, and you are off and running. Set up was very simple and quick. I was up and running within 5 minutes. You will want to plan to install firmware updates though, shortly after set-up, but this process is also quick and easy.
- Picture quality is top-notch. While this projector is 1080p and not 4k, it's pretty difficult to tell the difference with the naked eye. You could spend more on a 4k projector but I don't feel it is necessary.
- Onboard audio is terrific. This projector has the best built-in speakers I have ever heard. This is very important if you plan to ever take your projector on the go or for an outdoor event.
- Syncing the remote via Bluetooth was easy and I appreciate not having to point it at the projector for it to work.

Great Look, Poor Audio Quality

This is the second pair of Bluetooth sunglasses that I have owned. The first pair was from a high-end company well known for their audio products. These sunglasses from Lucyd were better in some ways, and worse in others.
Pros:
- The look/style of these sunglasses was a strong positive. I would wear these just for their looks, whether or not they had onboard Bluetooth speakers.
- All the accessories that you would want are provided, including a pouch and hard case. The fold-out hard case is very nicely designed and impressed me.
- The onboard mic worked well when I triggered the Google Assistant.

The Anker PoweCore III is a terrific option for folks looking for back-up power on the go. You can expect to get about 2 additional charges for most phones out of this power bank.
The build quality seems excellent as it feels very solid and well designed. It charges quickly via the USB-C port. When charging your devices, the output power comes from 2 USB-A ports. I was able to charge both by tablet and my phone at the same time with no issue.
This power bank comes with a handy pouch and a short USB-A -> USB-C charging cable. The pouch is useful to keep the bank and cable together without misplacing one or the other.
If you are in the market for a back-up power option, this is an excellent option!

Terrific and Affordable

This is my first Hisense TV. They have been around a few years now and I had heard some good things so I was really looking forward to upgrading from my 55" to a 70" LED TV.
First, 70 inches is a whole lot of real estate. If you are seriously thinking about getting a TV this big, ensure you have the space for it. If you have a small living room or apartment, 70 inches might be too big for you. I had concerns about it fitting on my entertainment center but fortunately it comes with 2 different stand settings where you can adjust the width of the legs as needed. And of course, like nearly all modern TVs, you could also use a wall mount.
Picture quality was phenomenal for such an affordable television. I have watched sports, streamed Netflix content, watched cable programming, and gamed on my Xbox. Everything looks phenomenal. It seems to handle motion well which is good because I watch a lot of sports. Out of the box the brightness levels were a bit high for me and I have since turned down the back-lighting.
Audio is what you would expect from modern televisions. The speakers will make do if needed, but most people will want to hook up a soundbar or home audio system to get high quality audio.
As with any TV, positioning is very important. You will get a significant glare off of this glossy screen at angles that reflect light sources (see images).
I really enjoyed how simple set-up was. Since this is an Android TV, you can connect to your gmail account and automate the set-up process right from your phone. I had quick access to my YouTube account and this Smart TV can be set up to push email and calendar notifications to your TV if you want.
After several days with this 70" Hisense, I am really impressed. I'll strongly consider going with this brand for my next purchase when it comes time to upgrade other TVs in my home.

I have been a big fan of Chromebooks for many years and prefer them to Windows laptops and Macbooks.
Generally, what I like is the simplicity that Chromebooks provide. The operating system updates in roughly 30 seconds with a simple reboot every other week or so. Boot ups are almost instantaneous. The ease at which documents can be stored within Google Drive and accessed anywhere (phone, tablet, etc) is super convenient.
Now, here are some specific thoughts I have about this particular Chromebook model.
Pros:
- The additional real estate provided by the 17" screen is welcome. If you are looking for a device that doesn't need to be super portable, this large screen is nice to have at home.
-Set up is super simple. Just connect to Wi-Fi, log in with your Google account and you are basically up and running.
- The larger size of this Chromebook allows for a number pad which is always nice to have. The track pad is also very large and functions well.
- The 1080P HD screen looks sharp
- 8 Gigs of RAM is more than enough to keep you multitasking with ease
- Terrific battery life (up to 10 hours)

some item, such as a rag or something of that nature is jammed in the hose, close to the plastic handle and will not allow air to pass through, how do I dislodge it?
Coat hangers are your best option as they are firm, but malleable.

There is no Aux audio output jack. It does not connect via bluetooth. It connects to your home's Wi-Fi network the same way a chromecast device does. Having a chromecast is optional, as you can have audio come directly from the Home device, or have it played through a chromecast connected TV.

Do you have to pay for extra services with this?
No, any other services you use with this device would be optional. You can use free Pandora/Spotify/Google Play Music account with it, or a paid subscription, among other services.
