I bought this as a personal science project. I wanted to try and convert a pair of corded headphones to Bluetooth headphones. It works but the sound quality is poor. I'm sure this isn't what this product was designed for. I'm not very knowledgable about Bluetooth technology so there may be another product that would work better. I don't know the difference between 2.1 or 4.0 Bluetooth versions.
