I have the FireTV and this Apple TV and I'm glad I have both. I like the mirroring feature from my iPad, while FireTV doesn't mirror with Apple devices. I think it's worth having if you own other apple products, but if you don't, the FireTV is better and the remote is more user friendly.

Great upgrade from the Panasonic plasma

I was hesitant to upgrade from my 65" Panasonic because I wasn't sure I would notice much of a difference in picture quality. I did a lot of research and decided to buy this model since I already had a surround sound set up and didn't need the added sound bar features of the other LG Oled models.
I'm very happy with my purchase. I hooked it up next to my plasma and watched the same movie and it's definitely better, but if you're not ready to upgrade, it's not imperative that you do it. I was impressed by how well the VT25 Panasonic stood up to it, but in 4k content, this TV is definitely sharper and blacker.
