Bought this specifically to pair with my Amazon Echo. Good sound quality but understandably lacking in bass due to its size but I didn't buy it to fill the house with wall vibrating bass, just to provide background music from the Echo and to serve as the voice speaker for the Echo. For that, it is quite good.

Love the screen size and the voice command

Love the screen size, easy to see for older guy like me. I have other voice command Garmins and love them all, the voice command function works well though not perfectly and sometimes I have to resort to typing in what i'm searching for because it just can't understand. The only hit I can give it, and this applies to all Garmins, is that there is no consistency in how local and county road numbers are registered and the search feature is not forgiving. For instance, if you ask for County Road 9 and the database has it recorded as County Rd 9, it won't find it.

How is the quality of the picture/sound?
The quality is totally dependent upon the speed and quality of the internet connection at the source (Slingbox) and destination (remote viewing device). That said, I am in Virginia, my Slingbox is in Minnesota, the upload rate in MN is ~ 5Mbps and the download rate in VA is ~20Mbps and the video/sound quality is full HD.

Can you edit the playlist on your dvr with the sling box?
My Slingbox 500 is connected to a DirecTV Genie DVR. I can do everything remotely that I can do when I'm sitting at home in front of the system. In my setup, when I connect remotely I have full access all of the DirecTV remote control functions so I can stream anything in my playlist, delete anything in my playlist, fast forward, rewind, pause, add new shows to record, etc.

Does the box use home internet data when watching the slingbox from another location?
I live in Alaska, and we don't have unlimited internet like there is in the Lower 48 states. If my husband is out of town for work, in the lower 48, and accesses the slingbox, of course he will be using the internet in his location. However, during the time that he is watching our DVR, would our data usage at home, where the slingbox is connected, go up as well?
Yes, When your husband connects remotely, he connects to your Slingbox at home. The video stream originates from your Slingbox (uploads) and terminates at his remote viewing device (downloads). So, your data upload at your home will go up significantly when he uses the Slingbox for remote viewing.
