VERY Impressed!

All I can say about the X-star Premium Drone is WOW! I'm VERY impressed! I'm a nOOb with drones and this is my first RC toy. Set-up was very easy and I can only encourage anyone to read all the documentation, and view YouTube videos explaining functions and details of the Drone, remote, batteries, and charger. I did purchase two extra batteries, additional charger, and prop guards. Although the Drone doesn't fit in the splash proof case with the prop guards on, it only takes a few minutes to remove two screws holding each one. I would rather spend the time with pre-flight and post-flight to make sure everything is checked, which also gives me time to think in case I forget something.
I have taken two flights so far with my new toy. Weather here was bitterly cold, but the sun was shining. Until I get more familiar with inputs and the like, I will leave my remote in "Beginner Mode." In "Beginner Mode", the Drone will only fly to an altitude of 98 feet and will only go so far from you. I have hooked up my iPad, but also used my iPhone. I definitely recommend using a tablet with the Star Link App, as it is much easier to see all the functions.
The "Hold To Take Off/Land" option, The "Hold To Start Go Home" features are very nice. Just make sure to set the altitude high enough before taking off, in order to ensure you clear any obstacles when coming back to your take off point. The 4K mode for video is strikingly crisp and clear. I filmed two videos, one using 4K and the other using 1080P. The difference in quality is quite obvious, therefore, I will only use 4K. It's kind of like watching movies in Blu-Ray. Once you see Blu-Ray, you will never want to watch a movie in any other format.
I registered my drone with the FAA and also with Autel. Cost to register with the FAA is a mere $5.00. This gives you a number which you can affix to your drone, or any other RC toy that flies in the air. Your registration is good for 3 years and then you will have to renew. I recommend doing this prior to any maiden voyage you take. Why risk being fined thousands of dollars? Also, Autel is reimbursing anyone who takes and passes their sUAS Part 107 test before March of 2017. The cost is $150.00 and I figured, I might as well study and get my license. Why not? Then I can make some side money for aerial photos and videos! Additionally, I have contacted Technical Support and have always been able to speak with someone in a reasonable amount of time, to answer any technical questions I had. I have also had a good experience with Technical Support via email. I like the fact that this company is in the United States! That was another reason and probably the most important in why I chose Autel Robotics when shopping different makes and models. Not to mention, all the reviews in regards to Autel were what persuaded me more in my purchase of their drone. Hands down, I have not been disappointed!
In conclusion, I would recommend purchasing this Drone. The camera, remote, intelligent Li-Po battery, hard splash proof case, positive reviews, and excellent customer support are all worth serious consideration with your new Drone purchase. I will try to add some more information with this review in the future once I become more acclimated with my new Drone!
