Nice canister, powerful and quiet

Replacing a 20 year old Sears canister. The beater is much quieter. The canister is easy to pull, but doesn't like going backwards on carpet. I used to back out of the room and push the canister with my foot as I back up - just need to change my style. Suction is very good; the carpet seemed to stand up longer after vacuuming. Easy to empty after use. The beater head is much more maneuverable (good thing) - it will take some getting used to as it turns 90 degrees with a flick of the wrist.

Upgraded from a 1987 unit (20 cuft with separate upper freezer compartment). The ice and water thru the door are nice - so is the readout on the current temp inside the unit. Fridge part is big and the door storage is very nice. Freezer is nice and is bigger than our old unit but layout is a little odd compared to our old box style freezer compartment - we are adapting. If you haven't used one before, make sure you put the top of the glass right up to the bottom edge of the dispenser when getting ice - it will eliminate the random ice chunks shooting across the kitchen floor.

Connectors are easy to use and the length allows plenty of room to pull out and connect the fridge. Bought this instead of the plastic hose in hopes of longevity, no-plastic taste and no-leak operation; only been using it for 2 weeks, but so far so good. Definitely run about a gallon through the water line in the fridge and throw the first two days of ice (for a new fridge hookup).

Bought it to use in my car audio USB port. Once plugged in it's barely noticeable so it doesn't interfere with the operation of the touch screen. When I leave the car I simply pull it out by the little attached line and it goes safely into my pocket. I've even forgot a couple of times and you can't tell it's in the USB port by looking in the car window. The capacity allows for more songs than I will ever need on any given trip and since it's USB, I can simply plug it into my PC and add and/or subtract songs to/from it. For the price - I'm very happy.

ice maker
We do not wish to use the ice maker although we bought the unit today, When they deliver, how does one disable the ice maker so it does not have to be used and will remain quiet? Thanks
On our fridge there is a removable shelf directly above the bin that holds the ice. Pull the shelf out and you will see a slide switch for the ice maker on the left side. Move it to "off" and you're good to go. The water will work but there is no ice made, so no clunking when it dumps the tray or swishing when the ice maker refills. We turn it off whenever we're gone for more than couple of days.
