I bought this for a DX camera so I can shoot High School basketball games. I am pretty close to the action so a zoom was not necessary! The 1.8 and the fact that its a Prime lens makes it an excellent choice. Putting this on the DX gave me about 127mm zoon and when shooting I choose JPEG which gives me even more FPS than if I was shooting raw. I have the option to crop in the camera as well. I love it!!
Nikon AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D Standard Lens: The wide-open aperture of this versatile Nikon lens allows you to capture photos in most situations without a flash. Whatever you're shooting, you'll get consistently sharp results at dusk, dawn or even in dim indoor lighting. Weighing just 5.5 oz., it makes a convenient carry-around lens for shooting stills and video.
I needed a lens to shoot 8th grade basketball. This worked fine as I was able to get close to the floor. Of course its not a 500mm 2.8 but I can see where it will come in handy in the future as well. You just can't beat this price!
A very good replacement battery for my Nikon D-40. I have had no problems with it so far. Seems to hold a longer charge than the previous Nikon battery.
Snap steady shots with your compatible DSLR camera using this Manfrotto MKCOMPACTACN-BK tripod that extends up to 60" and folds down to 17.8" for compact storage. A quick-release plate and locking system allow simple attachment, removal and adjustment.
I almost returned this to the store because of the weight limitations of only 3.3. lbs but decided since it was very compact and wasn't very expensive I would keep it. It doesn't take very long to get used to the controls. So far its a great tripod that is well built. I did buy a back up quick release because based on my past experience these can get lost or misplaced easily. Why wait to buy a back up or if using multiple cameras its easier to keep on bottom of camera for the day.
