Simple to use and takes great pictures. It has an adjustable viewing screen so you can take views of children playing on the floor. It also has a typical viewfinder that is actually a small electronic viewer. Most of the functions are simple if that is all you need. It can connect with a smartphone and shows the actual picture, ability to change the zoom and remotely control the shutter (as in group shots). My wife loves it.

This is my second TIVO BOLT. I replaced my set top box and use the Bolt to change channels. It also enables me to watch tv shows from either Bolt either transferring and watching shows. I can also save tv shows using Tivo Desktop. Such an improvement. The Bolt can either watch Over the air TV or Cable shows via internal cable card (from the cable supplier).

The new 1TB BOLT is so much better than my old series 2's. It transfers to my desktop faster, Downloads faster, Has 4 tuners, better video, When using season pass (now called onepass) it is much faster. Smaller footprint with less heat, And is also controlled by a smart phone, apple or tablet. I can watch shows, save to my phone, add new recordings, delete shows, via phone/tablet free app. It also has a skip feature that can bypass all commercials (this is on some shows).I will replace my old TIVO with another BOLT. Best Buy had the same deal as TIVO.

Can this unit be programmed to record over the air without using the high-priced monthly TV Guide? The idea of cable cutting is to get away from expensive monthly subscriptions, not add more. Will this work at all if one doesn't buy the $15/month guide?

If we pay 14.99 per month for TIVO, how much extra is sling? Hulu? Net flix? TY show? What do we get for 14.99 a month??? Thank you .
It all depends on what you want to watch. If it is just over the air TV or just standard cable or HBO it is perfect. If you want to watch movies then you can purchase the other services. I have a Tivo Bolt, which is perfect for me. I don't have time to watch HBO or Hulu or the others. The Tivo Bolt will find most shows and movies, and if needed download what I need. Cheers.

With a TB of storage, how much record time with HD and with 4K?
The TIVO website will tell you. I am at 32% with 65 HD shows saved. The 1 TB BOLT is adequate. If I wanted to add more I would get an external hard drive or send it off to weaknees for an upgrade. Most everything I want to save I use my desktop PC (except copy protected shows - about 2% of the shows, and HBO).
