This is the third GPS Garmin I have owned. They have always been accurate and no issues with glitches. The operation is intuitive and well laid out. I also have it auto link with me cell phone which is in my pocket so can answer without picking up the phone. The voice command for all the operations is very good. recognizes my voice with few errors. The volume is sufficient to overcome lots of road noise. The traffic allert feature is very useful. I only took away one star because i was planning on using the Garmin BC 30 with it as a backup camera. It turns out that if you do the power cord for the camera is also the antenane for the wireless camera...and the cord for the GPS is required for the traffic allerts so you loose the traffic alerts with the backup camera ! So I decided against the backup camera...will be looking for another provider for that....to bad. By the way I have owned three other brands of GPS...none of them can compare to the Garmin as far as accuracy and usability.

Good program for video processing at reasonable $$

I wanted a more current video program for use on my Windows 10 computer. I also wanted ability to not only work with normal DVD format but also HD and Blue Ray in future. This one thus far has been working fine. Sony also has a much more expensive PRO version but frankly I can't see the point for 99% of what most people want out of this type of a program. It has plenty of options for output and format and seems to be fairly intuitive. I decided to get the Sony version since I also have the Sony version of audio studio software that I use for editing my and others music performances (I play an instrument professionally). I figured that they would both be similar in operation and user interface to make them easier to learn...and that proved to be so. I can't speak to similar programs from other companies as I am only familiar with and have used three brands but with several years older versions. But the Sony version definitely appears to be current with others feature and user interface wise. I only reserve the last star because nothing is perfect and I am sure I will find some area that could be improved in the future...but for now it meets my needs.

I used to cover the 2 displays of a Nikon D-800 camera to add scratch prevention and damage protection. I also used it on a pocket digital camera display for the same reason. Seems to work just fine, stays put and more "invisible" than other brands I have tried. A little more expensive but worth it compared to other brands.

I needed a external CD RW and this one was very cheap and small. Works fine so can't see much reason to go with anything more expensive unless you plan on using it a lot. I just use it occasionally to load programs or burn music files or home videos. It doesn't burn BluRay of other HD...but for my purposes it is just fine.

After first buying a Dell comparable computer that had major issues with wireless and a second one also did the same I decided to return to Best Buy and to go with ASUS. Glad I did as it is trouble free and has several things to recommend it. The screen is really good...as accurate as my big calibrated monitor I use for Photo Shop CC professional use. Has 12 GB memory so fast and Nvidia video with dedicated color memory. Also has a R/W CD burner, 3 USB ports, wired port for wireless and HDMI. I was surprised when I got it home and opened the box. It comes with a plug in small sub woofer/remote speaker that is much louder than the built in speakers so very useful. I like the back lit keyboard (am an astrophotographer so work in the dark). Has a couple of other nice touches like an all aluminum case...not plastic. Not a big negative but the SD card reader has the SD card sticking out a bit rather than contained into the case so you shouldn't leave the SD card in there all the time. This might be a good idea though...keeps you from leaving the SD card in there which could be a security issue for some. I like the 2 in 1 option....as laptop or tablet. It isn't overloaded with bloat ware either. My family has had and.or currently own many brands...HP, Toshiba,, Lenovo, another ASUS cheaper laptop and two ASUS Android tablets (really nice). The other ASUS laptop and this new one have been very impressive price/specs. I decided to go with another HHD version as the solid state ones are still too expensive for the larger sizes. That being said this one boots up very quickly and no issues with any programs I previously ran from Win 7 machines. I only had one gripe...not ASUS fault...Windows no longer supports Ad Hoc wireless since Win 8. I used that feature to control some telescopes but have an alternative now but wish they didn't remove it. I understand many IT guys are upset so maybe they will relent.

I bought one and after installing WIN 10 it promptly started dropping my WIDI signal (never an issue with 4 other laptops my family has or two tablets. Returned and tried another....it too did the same thing. The Geek Squad representative said several similar reports. Returned it and got an ASUS which has been trouble free and more features for not much more money.

Very good keyboard with excellent tactile feel and fast. Good balance when tablet upright. Nice tight package with tablet....no larger than the outside dimensions and about doubles the thickness. Seems to be good materials and battery life is very long. You can use the keyboard remotely from the tablet which is handy when you want to have the tablet connected to a computer projector for presentations and run the program from the front of the audience. I like that you can use the tablet folded into the case in regular tablet mode too...you don't have to remove the tablet to use it without the keyboard in use. The keyboard has an on/off switch but it also will turn itself off after a period of non use so you save the battery if you forget to turn it off. Only negative...the battery is not user replaceable..at least in the field so when the service life of the battery is used up you will probably need to find a battery replacement that may not be off the shelf. The keyboard is charged with a standard micro USB charger at the normal 5 volts of most cell phones.
Only thing missing...it would be great if it had back lit keys for use in dim lighting or at night (I am an astronomer). I have a ASUS tablet and a windows computer that both have USB ports that can have a plug in LED light to light the keyboard but that isn't possible here without a cobbled up setup (which I made but not very elegant).

I also have a ASUS T700 tablet that is two years old. The Samsung is a bit faster because of the processor and more memory but not a huge difference. The screen is very good but no better than the ASUS other than larger. The big screen was my main reason for getting it. I am a musician and use my tablets to hold music charts (sheet music) for performance. The 10" size is OK but the 12" size is closer to the size of real music sheets and a bit easier to read. I do miss the expandability that the ASUS has...it has (when used with its docking keyboard) a USB port, a HDMI port, a Micro SD port and a regular SD card port. I can duplicate most of this by using accessory Samsung cable adaptors that all plug into the one proprietary port but not as neat or convenient. The speakers are stereo and very good and plenty loud. The latest Android system is fine although there is a Google issue that they have adopted that can limit saving of files to the micro SD card in some cases. Apps are coming out with work arounds but that is not Samsungs problem.

Shelf life much better than the competition

I use lot of batteries to power photo gear, digitial recorders and even flashlights. I have used many brands and compared to the competition these last as long but also have a longer shelf life. I also have switched over to Rayovac rechargeables as they also have power equal to the other top brands but unike them, Rayovac indeed has a much longer charge retention. Pay attention to the ahr rating of the batteries...there are different levels/models. Higher ahr means longer operating life. Of course price is always a big consideration but generally these are competitive.

Use these for professional photography. Never had a bad one and these are easily able to keep up with my Nikon D800 whether in full frame 36mp mode or 1080 HD mode. Also use in a ASUS android tablet which can also record 1080 HD video.

Can it download adobe flash player?
Android doesn't recognize flash but you can run any movies, etc. from inside Google Chrome. It was an issue for a while but they seem to have come up with a work around.

Power point presentations
I teach a lot and most of my material is on power point. Someone else on this forum asked if a projector could be attached and there were conflicting answers. If I got this tablet and put my content on it, could I then interface it with a standard VGA-type connector to an LCD projector? How about an HDMI connection to a projector or flatscreen? Does Samsung have any sort of Slingbox/Apple TV type device that I could stream my content to and then connect that device to the projector or flatscreen? The ability to use the device for teaching is my main impetus for the purchase. Without that ability, I will have to go to a standard laptop, which I do not want to do. Thanks.
I use mine with a computer projector. You can get both a converter to the SVGA type older connections that schools still often have or a HDMI. It is a simple cord adaptor that plugs into the proprietary port and either the SVGA adaptor or the HDMI version. Buy the way...Logitech makes a matched blue tooth keyboard/case that is really nice. It can be separated from the tablet if you wish and via bluetooth acts as a remote input device. I use it that way in presentations...the tablet is back at the computer projector and the keyboard is up with me at the front of the audience.

It has 3 gb of ram which makes it fast. My other tablet is just about as fast but has 1 gb of ram so that is a choke. By the way....I have the 32 gb version and while I have Lots of apps that are power hungry it still has plenty of room. Having a micro SD card (I use a 64 GB) means I have LOTS of space to store programs...many can be run from the SD card using the app control within the Android system. Warning though...if you place all your apps on the SD card you will not be able to run them if you swap out the SD card to put in another one for additional space. But 64 is a LOT of space. One way to add lots of additional memory is to get the Samsung adaptor cable that plugs in the proprietary port and has a USB female port...you can add flash drive....you can even get a flash drive splitter so you can add a few additional flash drives at the same time (think the limit is around 4-5 but that is tons of space).

USB cable for PowerShot cameras
I lost my USB cable for my Canon Powershot camera. Does the ONE mini-cable you offer online fit Powershot cameras??
There are two mini USB cables availalble that are standard. One is called MINI USB and another is the Micro MINI. The difference is in the size of the plug that plugs into the camera. Most likely the one you want is the Micro MINI. If there is a Best Buy near you they can tell you which one it is. They look very similar....the width is the same but the thickness is the difference. One is about 1/8" thick and the other half of that.

I haven't tried this charger but they advertise that these batteries can be charged in any standard charger. On the other hand...anytime you rapid charge batteries you tend to put more stress on them and reduce their life somewhat. I prefer to use the standard recharge time which on the two brands I use is around 2 1/2 hours for AA and AAA batteries with about 14 hours for a 9 volt.
