Slow and has trouble with monitor blacking out

Many times I have had to shut down my computer completely using the power button because the screen would go dark and never come back up.
Called support and they wanted to do factory restore after trying to delete the graphic driver and install and OLDER driver (which failed to help).
Have also lost the mouse cursor and had to reboot to get it back.
