Great Image & Build Quality
on January 17, 2018

I found the Kasa Cam to be very comparable to the Nest Cam, but much cheaper. The build quality also seems to be better! Another reason why I prefer this to the Nest Cam is that TP-Link do not have a forced and aggressive subscription plan like Nest! In fact, the Kasa Cam comes with 2 days of free video history, and the option of a paid monthly subscription if you choose to have one.
The camera is well equipped, and comes with a stand, extra-long USB cable, power adapter and as a bonus a wall mounting kit too! I found it funny that a few reviews complained about the camera being black, but the USB cable being white! I actually prefer this and don’t think this was an oversight at all. If I were to wall mount the Kasa Cam, I would much rather have the cable that runs down the wall being white instead of black! A black cable would be an eyesore!
Naturally, since this is called the “Kasa Cam”, setup with the “Kasa App” was very easy. The on screen instructions are straightforward and easy to follow. The features on this camera are excellent. It even has Amazon Alexa integration. At this time, Alexa support is limited to the Echo Show and Fire TV, where you are able to show/hide the camera on the display. With the 130 degree wide angle view, I am able to see the whole room, even from close range. The 2-way audio with built-in microphone work very well, and the speaker is surprisingly loud! It is very useful if you have a pet, and want them to hear your voice to calm them, or to scold them if they are doing anything they are not meant to be doing! Other features like the motion detection are great! You get a notification if any motion (or sound) is detected. You are also able to exclude certain areas from the camera view to trigger any motion alert. This can be very useful, for instance, if you have a plant that moves a lot (especially with the AC blowing), you can exclude it from the detection zone.
The image is truly crystal clear and I was blown away by the quality. The night vision is very effective, and the camera is able to atomically switch it on when needed. This is a well-built camera, with plenty of features that other named brand cameras lack!

Reliable Performance with Plenty of Features
on November 29, 2017

This is one of the smallest, lightest, and cheapest AC1750 Wi-Fi routers I have used. The C7 does not draw much power, which is a nice bonus. This is also apparent in the temperature of the unit when I have multiple devices attached, as it barely gets warm to the touch.
Setup was very straightforward on this Wi-Fi router. I do recommend updating the firmware to the latest version before you configure it, which saves you from having to do it again after the update. The latest version also seems to be a lot more stable overall. The C7 has all the modern and advanced features you would expect to find in an AC1750 Wi-Fi router. I like that these includes two USB ports, perfect for a print server and attaching an external hard drive to. The 4 Ethernet ports are also Gigabit speed!
In terms of performance, the C7 works very well. The 3 antennas provide great coverage and range. I found that having the outer antennas at a 45 degree angle and the middle antenna standing straight up, worked best for me. I am also getting really good speeds with near hardwired speeds when the C7 is in line of site.
Overall the C7 has been very stable and reliable. The advanced features in a small and simple form factor are its biggest strengths.

Control your lights, ceiling fans, and other fixtures from anywhere with the HS200. The smart switch replaces any standard light switch, and connects to your home Wi-Fi in no time through the free Kasa app. Kasa also lets you manage connected fixtures with your smartphone or tablet, including setting schedules, timers and countdowns. For added convenience, you can use your voice to control the HS200 when paired with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

Surprisingly Easy to Setup!

Compared to the smart plugs and smart light bulbs, I initially felt that installing this switch would be a little intimidating or that I would need a qualified electrician. However, the Kasa App guided me through the entire process, which was surprisingly easy. There are also great videos on Youtube, in case you want a more visual guide or to get a little comfortable with the process before you begin. TP-Link also include wire connectors so you do not need anything extra to install this light switch. Speaking of which, this is not quite a switch, it is more of a button that looks like a switch. It takes some getting used to, when using it in the manual mode. In terms of design, this switch is very sleek and looks modern.
This switch is perfect for controlling an array of lights controlled by a single switch, or even devices that do not have a “smart” alternative yet, like a ceiling fan. Alexa integration works great, and the scheduling feature within the KASA App is fantastic. You have so much flexibility in scheduling/automatic/controlling the light switch.
Two things that I would like to see in the next model is the ability to dim lights, and also the ability to turn off the LED indicator. Overall, this is a very versatile switch and though it may seem intimidating, both the installation and configuration are very easy.

Great Value for the Money

For the price, this is a fantastic basic Wi-Fi router. If you want to upgrade from Wireless AC from Wireless N, but don’t need a powerful Wi-Fi router, then this is a good choice. It is nice to see advanced features on this router, especially at this price point. For instance, it comes with parental controls, QOS MU-MIMO, Beamforming Technology, VPN Access, and a USB port. It also has 3 high gain external antennas instead of 2 which is normally seen on similar routers.
Though you have two methods to setup this Wi-Fi router, I recommend using the Tether App to configure it. The overall process took me less than 5 minutes. In my tests, I found 3 antennas (instead of 2) made a really big difference in coverage and reach of the Wi-Fi signal. I tested this against a similar Wireless AC router with 2 Antennas, and also a Wireless N router with 3 Antennas. I found it could also handle many connected devices at once. Naturally, when I added a lot more devices (15 connected devices) to stress test it, things started slowing down a little. It is also important to note that the Ethernet ports max out at 100Mbps. Hence, this is best suited for smaller homes with a < 100Mbps internet connection coming in.
I find that this is a perfect Wi-Fi router for non-power users that only have a moderate number of simultaneously connected wireless devices, and don’t need any of the very advanced features found in more expensive Wi-Fi routers.

Basic yet Effective

This is a good basic Wireless USB Adapter for laptops/computers that lack an Ethernet port. I tested this adapter on a very old laptop with a burnt out Ethernet port and broken on board Wi-Fi chip, rendering it useless. However, this device brought new life to it, and I was up and running in no time. This adapter works a lot better than the USB adapters that look like USB flash drives. The main difference is the dual external antenna, which really extends the coverage. Another advantage is it does not connect directly to the USB port, like the other variants. It actually connects via a USB cable (a long 1.5 meter cable is included!) toward the USB port. This allows you to place the Wireless USB Adapter in a more convenient location, away from the laptop/computer.
Setup was very easy. The packaging comes with a driver CD, but I prefer downloading device drivers directly from the website. You also get that latest version that way. The built in WPS button, made the setup even easier!
In terms of performance, I was able to receive adequate Wi-Fi signal from most parts of my house. In places where the signal was weak, I manipulated the adjustable antenna, till I got better signal. I was also able to move the adapter away from devices that were causing interference, thanks to the included 1.5 meter cable. As expected, since this is Wireless N, it will not perform as well as Wireless AC Adapters. However, it works well for a cheap and quick fix for a devices with broken Ethernet ports/on board Wi-Fi chips.

Perfect Size!

The HS105 turns any of your standard devices into a "Smart" device. Once you start using this, you will quickly see the benefits. This is especially apparent if you own an Amazon Alexa device (echo/dot).
The build quality is very good. It is sturdy and certainly doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. The design of this product is where it really shines. One of the biggest complaints of most Smart Plugs is there bulky size which in turn means that they often cover/obstruct more than one power outlet. I was pleased to find that TP-Link has overcome this issue with this newly designed Smart Plug. What's more impressive is how simple the solution was – making a wider Smart Plug, instead of a taller Smart Plug! Good move TP-Link! Since this is considerably smaller, I was worried that the range (distance away from the Wi-Fi router) would be affected. I had no issues, and I was able to plug this device a reasonable distance away from my Wi-Fi router.
The scheduling aspect is great! There are a lot of variables you can set. Time (hours and minutes, am/pm), switch action (on or off), and repeat (days of week - you can select one individual day, every day, or a combination of days). A programmed event requires two "events" in the app, a switch action "on" and a switch action "off". This is useful if you have a routine with turning on/off a device in your home. Some uses I have for this HS105 are for lamps, entertainment units, irons, fans or just about anything you want to conveniently turn on/off or set timers for.
Overall this is a fantastic Smart Plug that works flawlessly.
