I've used Harmony remotes for years and overall, have been fairly satisfied with the products. I've primarily used the Harmony 1000 and 1100 touch screen remotes with the IR extender kit. This new Harmony Elite is a Quantum Leap ahead! My biggest complaint with the original remote was the difficulty in set up...seemed way too complicated and time consuming for such an advanced system. This new Elite took all of three minutes and worked flawlessly the first test! I've also downloaded the Harmony remote app to my iPhone and I Pad which allows me to control my system using all my devices. Ok, nothing's perfect I guess, but why did they reduce the number of IR mini blaster outputs on the hub to two!?! I have my components in three separated cabinets with doors plus the TV above which requires three mini blaster plus the hub, so I bought an additional mini blaster but without a splitter there's no way to hook it to a hub. No problem you say...well, heres the rub....the Harmony uses 2.5mm plugs and jacks instead of the standard 3.5mm and they're nearly impossible to find! Why wouldn't a company that has the technology to build a remote as advanced as the Elite at least think that part through?! Sorry guys, but you get a big raspberry for that one. Other than that, this new remote is a dream to use and I'm very pleased to recommend it.
