No GPS, the Sony HX90 has the GPS function, but pops the price up almost $100. In doing very in-depth research I found that the GPS function uses a lot of battery power, and not worth the price value difference. If you are going to lot of different places all the time then the HX90 may be for you. My style is to use it for repeat photos in various locations and I just rely on the date/time function for identification purposes. The HX90 is identical to the HX80 except it has GPS and possible NFC (not quite sure about the NFC function, you would need to check that out.
PS, I did a lot of research into both the HX80 and HX90 among Canon, Nikon, Panasonic and Sony and the HX80 was my personal winner, and I am very satisfied.
