Great update to an already solid computer

Was fortunate that I was able to return my 2017 i5 8GB 512GB 13 MacBook Pro on Thursday 7/12. Was exactly the 45th day I had to return it when Apple announced the 2018 quad core MacBook Pro's. Quickly returned my 2017. Saturday I went back and forth between the 2018 MacBook Pro 13 and Surface Book 2 13.5. Low and behold after further researching my local Best Buy actually had the 2018 13" i5 8GB 512GB in stock. I quickly placed an online order and went to the store to pick it up.
I can say that after using it extensively since Saturday evening, it is a major improvement over the 2017 models. Much snappier, battery life has been great, the new keyboard is a lot nicer, and the True Tone display is a welcomed addition. The SSD in this screams!
Glad Apple finally got the 8th Gen chips out. And much happier that I was still within my exchange window.

Nice design but horrible heat output

Nice computer overall, but I do not recommend. The unit I received had horrible heat issues, with the fan constantly spinning, and excessive coil whine. Never experienced coil whine as loud as this was. Computer got so hot that calling it a laptop was a joke. Buyer beware, read reviews before purchasing as the heat and fan issues place this lineup

Run more software on your computer with Parallels Desktop 13 software for the Mac. Its side-by-side view lets you run Mac and Windows programs simultaneously, and it has up to 64GB of virtual RAM to operate apps without lag. Parallels Desktop 13 software is compatible with a variety of operating systems.

Very easy to install, nice having the ability to just double click the Parallels icon and be in Windows for those occasions of needing an app. Will automatically download Windows for you (you still need a product key). Been a PC user for 25+ years. Never really dabbled in the Mac eco system, but decided now was the time. I already have an iPhone X, Apple Watch Series 2, and a iPad Pro 10.5, so it made sense to convert the last piece of the puzzle. Lets just say I am extremely happy with my choice! Was a hesitant at first with having to learn a new operating system coming from Windows 10, but the learning curve really isn't that bad. MacOS has all the same tools and programs as Windows, just different names, and they seem to actually work better. Love that all my Apple products merge with one another and work together as one.This to me a strong selling point.
System is fast, smooth, fluid, quiet, barely warm, perfect size/weight, display is crisp and bright, speakers are by far the best on the market. I hear complaints about the keyboard, but to be honest, I really like the feel and low travel of the keyboard. I type a lot faster on this then the Yoga 920 it is replacing. Miss the 4K screen on the Yoga, but this Retina display is just as good and is perfect for a 13" screen, and lets not mention scales perfect unlike in Windows. Keyboard for me is hands down better than the Yoga 920.
In all, I am extremely happy with my choice, in fact, I returned my wife's Yoga 730 and got her a MacBook Pro 13 TB as well! She loves hers just as much... Couldn't beat the Best Buy sale this weekend as I was able to save $400 on each MacBook!

Overpriced, as there are other cost friendly alternatives (TP-Link C5400) that have the same features and perform better. Setup is easy, connections were good for about 3-4 days before my kids would call to say I needed to reboot the router. Happened for the 3 weeks I had it multiple times. Speeds were good. Design is blah. Big footprint. Got very warm... Returned and got the C5400 and am happier

Don't let the price or brand fool you. This is an excellent router, with many features that the more expensive routers have for less (have BB price match for a better deal). Easy to setup. I have Blast Pro 400 from xfinity and regularly pull 450 down on CAT5 and 300 on my iPad Pro 10.5/iPhone 7 Plus.
Lots of features, plenty of memory, plenty of horsepower for a household with a multitude of devices like mine.

Don't know what I was doing wrong with the setup, but after trying 2 units with the same results I gave in and returned it going to a different brand that worked flawlessly out of the box. My issues were that I have Blast Pro 400 from Comcast. With this router no matter what settings I used I only could get 3MB downloads even with a hard wire connection. Tried various settings, updating firmware, factory resetting... After reading the Linksys forums, it seems that not only is this product affected but the EA9500 as well.
