Great sounding, but temperamental

I was looking for a single speaker for a sitting room and auditioned Sonos, Bose and the Definitive Technology devices in the $300 range. And the W7 sounded so much better with a deep natural sound. After getting the single speaker, it was only a couple of weeks and I got a second one to create a stereo pair. They sound great and are very discreet sitting as they do on side tables.
But, I have had a lot of problems with the speakers disappearing from the app (the app is the only way to send music to the speakers). Definitive's customer support provided some guidance to put the speakers on a 2.4GHz network AND turn off my AUTO channel feature on my router. So far these changes have made the set-up much more reliable.
The iOS app only has a limited number of music services, and although the popular ones are included its not possible to route just any audio to the speakers (as you can with bluetooth or AirPlay speakers). And there is no OS X native application (just Windows) and they have no intentions to develop.
With all that said, I love the speakers for their sound and how unobtrusive they are.

OLED televisions are not cheap. There are plenty of less expensive ways to get a 4K Smart TV. But, when you enjoy the picture quality of the LG sets, you will appreciate every extra dollar you invested. It goes without saying that every review mentions the black levels, and the level of detail in shadows is outstanding, and when the show or picture fades to black - its exactly black, you cannot see where the TV screen edge is. Color replication is perfect, and no doubt a professional calibration could improve, i've found the built in expert settings give me very satisfactory results.
I'm using a Tivo Roamio as source for live TV, Sony Blu-Ray player and the built in Smart Apps for streaming services. The built-in Netflix and Amazon Video apps support 4K HDR.
I watch a lot of shows streamed, and my old Panasonic 720P plasma would show bands of color (particuarly with gray), but the LG OLED has non of those drawbacks - streaming from Hulu or Netflix looks as good as broadcast 1080i sources.
For audio, I am routing through my Bose Soundbar, so haven't assesed the built in speakers.

Best Chromebook ever!

This is my second Chromebook, the first was a generation 1 Toshiba now gifted to my mom. The second generation has built on all the positive features of the first. With 4GB of RAM, the machine is responsive, battery life is great at 7-8 hours. The fit and finish is nicer. And the 13" IPS screen is something to behold.
I really find no fault with the new machine. Sure, its more expensive than most Chromebooks, and there are many more who think that $329 for a laptop that doesn't run Windows is a poor purchase decision. But, I would counter that those $200-300 bargain PC's are not as enjoyable to use as this Chromebook.
Chrome OS and netbooks aren't for everyone, but if you are ready to accept the Chromebook lifestyle, don't make a purchase before trying out the Toshiba Chromebook 2

Great product for OTA DVR!

I have considering dropping satellite for several weeks, but couldn't decide on the right alternative that worked for the whole family. TiVo still has a monthly cost, without which the Roamio doesn't work, but after considering other options, I settled on the Roamio for three reasons. Proven name for DVR, comprehensive features and single box solution.
Picture quality is great from antenna. All recordings have worked flawlessly. On screen functions are intuitive for easy transition from Dish.
I'm using the Roamio for TV, Netflix, Hulu, Pandora and Rhapsody! It's certainly getting plenty of use!
I would recommend Roamio to anyone wanting to switch from cable or satellite. The transition is easy and you'll not be disappointed with it,

does it plug into outlet
each speaker just needs a 110V outlet, and comes with a 6ft cord. Setup and control is done using an Android or iOS app on smartphone/tablet. Speaker uses wireless to stream audio and there is a 3.5mm aux input as well.

4GB DDR3L or 4GB DDR3L???
The Product features for this model states: " 4GB DDR3L memory- For multitasking power."
But.... on Toshiba's site, the Toshiba CB35-B3340 states the specs are "4GB DDR3 1600MHz." and the Toshiba CB30-B3123 states the specs are "4GB DDR3L 1600MHz".....
Best Buy states that this is Model: CB35-B3340 (SKU: 8790147) and is listing the Ram as the 4GB DDR3L .....
Can someone clarify this for me as this is THE major difference between Toshiba's two models. Is it the model or the RAM that is incorrect on *THIS* listing???????????

There are two Chromebook 2 models. The top model (retailing at $329) has 4GB RAM and full HD IPS screen (1080P). The lower model has only 2GB and a (1366x768) screen. Processor is the same and battery power is better on the lower model (screen uses less power)

Can you recommend good wireless or wired mouse for this Chrome book ?
any wired mouse will work. Bluetooth mice are another option - you have to turn on Bluetooth in the setting (by default its turned off to save battery). I have a Dell WM524 travel mouse that I personally like and works fine

you have to use Google Cloud Print - this uses your internet connection to send files to your Google Cloud Print Printer or a printer connected to a computer that has Google Cloud print bridge installed

How long does the battery last on average?
7-8 total hours on average - all my time is on wi-fi.

How good is the sound?
Sound is okay. I wouldn't say that its anything special. There is no thumping bass or wide sound stage. But its loud enough for watching TV, listening to music in the kitchen.
I did a comparison to my MacBook Air and the Toshiba doesn't come close in comparison.
In two words - the audio is good enough!

can you print photos from a chrome laptop?
To print from any Chromebook you need access to a Google Cloud Print printer. There are many printers now available with this feature - and it places the printer on the internet with the added advantage that you can print to your printer from not only your Chromebook but any computer running Google Chrome browser anywhere in the world. You can also connect a ''legacy" printer to a PC/Mac/Linux computer and install a helper program that acts a bridge.
One drawback of Chromebooks/Chromeboxes is no native printing over USB - you have to use Google's cloud printing service.
In use, other than a short delay between hitting print and getting a print out, there is no difference that I've noticed between local printing over wi-fi from my MacBook to cloud printing from my Chromebook

Can I run Debian on the Toshiba Chromebook 2?
I want to wipe ChromeOS of this laptop and use just Debian as OS. I basically just like the Hardware but don't want to work with ChromeOS.
If you Google your question, you'll find write ups for people who have successfully replaced their Chrome OS with Linux. Most people who want that Linux experience take the ChrUbuntu route instead. Rather than replacing the OS, this installs Ubuntu alongside Chrome OS allowing you to page between regular Chrome OS and Ubuntu. Both OS's can access the same file storage on the device.
I personally have done this to run Skype and Kodi (XBMC) on my machine and it worked just great.
