I like DVI connections better than HDMI for most pc's and this worked very well. HDMI often needs tweaking to get the best performance but DVI usually just works out of the box. No adjustment was necessary and the picture is crystal clear.

Is this compatible with windows 8.1 and are the drivers easily available on the net. What is the best 22 inch portable monitor you have for sale that meets these requirements? or even 24 ... not looking to drag everywhere but occasional mobility....

I may purchase a mini mac and will need a monitor like this ASUS LED 21.5. Is this compatible with MAC? Some net forums suggest many monitors will work but the software provided is not useable for the MACs.

I'm looking for a monitor for my home security system. I know very little about what I'm looking for but it has good reviews and is within budget. Is this they type of monitor that works with a home security system?
This monitor should work fine for a home security system and might even be overkill. This is more of a home office or light gaming monitor and I use this monitor in my home office. At work we use Nextiva software on dual 19" monitors with 1366 x 768 resolution for video surveillance. You may not be able to run this monitor at full hd (1080p) resolutionon a home security system, depending on your software and setup. Most video surveillance software runs better at lower resolutions. Good luck!
