Great choice for fans of in-ear headphones

In-ear headphones are my preferred style, and although there are many on the market, it can be hard to find a truly good pair. My favorite wired pair are the JVC HA-FX55 that I have had for over 7 years -- like these Sonys, they have silicone tips that isolate (not cancel) surrounding noise and help the headphones stay in place. The sound quality on the JVCs is outstanding, rivaling many over-the-ear sets.
I wanted to go wireless primarily for convenience when working out, and I was a bit skeptical of these Sonys, at least until I read the reviews. Let me get to the point: The sound quality is nearly the equal of my beloved JVCs, and the clarity and dynamic range compare well to using Bluetooth with my Mazda 3's 9-speaker Bose system.
You need to choose the right size of silicone tips -- too small and the soundstage is diminished (especially the bass) while exterior sounds can creep in. Once you find the right size for you, insert the earphones properly, snug up the cord on the back of the neck, start listening, and get ready to be impressed! My primary music device is my iPhone 6 with Apple Music -- if you want to run a test, try the first 2.5 minutes of Pink Floyd's "Time" or the Record Company's "On the Move." I'm sure the fact that Sony builds in support for Apple's AAC codec helps significantly.
After several weeks, the battery life is living up to Sony's claim of 7 hours, and the controls have become second nature for me to operate. They are very comfortable to wear, and it is great to be able to rinse off the perspiration after a long workout. I cannot speak to the ability to take phone calls, since I only intend to use these for music.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Can I shower with these headphones with its IPX5 water resistant rating?

Based on Sony's documentation, I would not recommend anything more than a quick splash of water. They are not designed to resist strong streams of water or submersion.
