I bought this because it would allow me to better hear voices in what I was watching without making action scenes unbearably loud and I am not disappointed. As a test, I replayed the Lord of the Rings movie scene where Aragorn is softly talking to the Hobbits in one location while the Nazgul are stabbing empty beds elsewhere. That used to be unbearable to listen to because of how loud the Nazgul screams are. Now I can hear Aragorn and not have my ears blasted by the Nazgul.
This sound bar will give you the big movie sound if you want it. Be aware that the box is taller than most. The legs on my TV (not a center stand) were too short for the box to fit under the set. Setup was easy and quick.
