We were changing carriers from AT$T to someone more reasonable and AT$T was balking on unlocking our current phones. Bestbuy had these on sale for a reasonable cost and we decided to make the plunge. We purchased 2 phones. The first is great and still operates well. The 2nd however got into a "boot loop" that was so bad that it would reboot itself before one could even open the Android menu to wipe the data that happened to get entered before the problems started ( a whole 1 hour). A call to Alcatel Tech Support and we were on the way to taking the phone back to BB to exchange. The replacement phone worked for a whole 2 days before starting to reboot itself about 45 minutes. Another call to Alcatel Tech Support and it was determined that there was likely a bad internal memory cell. At least this time we were able to wipe the data from the phone before returning it to BB for a refund. So, we are on a 33% non-defective rate on these phones.
In all fairness, the phone that is still working works fantastically even after a full month of use. Had the other phones not been bad we'd have likely been very happy.

The tripod is fairly frail and worrisome to use for my DSLR, but does function OK. Care should be taken to have a leg "under" the lens so that the camera's weight doesn't try to tip the tripod over. Works great for smaller digital "point-and-shoot" cameras.

Can the port be used on a TV?
This is dependent on the TV more than the hub. If the TV can act as a USB host (as opposed to a client) then it may work. Some smart TV's can do this for sure, but there are others that cannot -- those that are programmed to just play photos or videos from USB keys for instance. You would be better served to contact the manufacturer of the TV and ask them.
