Was working fine then suddenly stopped working. It still works but only if it's slightly pushed upward. Only tried on my Surface Pro 2

Is this remote compatible with a Nikon D5200?
It would be soooo helpful if the specs provided more compatibility information.
It should work without a problem. Just make sure your camera is set for remote.
