Philips Norelco S9721/84 Shaver 9700: Achieve smooth results with this easy to use shaver. The dual-blade design captures hair and contour technology follows every curve for a close and comfortable shave.
I've bought and used Norelco Razors in the past. All of the Norelco Razors that I've owned have worked well and have been long lasting. Most of the razors have lasted between 5-7 years on average.
This razor is the best one of the Norelco Razors I've used. I've only owned it for a week, but if it lasts as long as the others I've owned, then this one will indeed have been the best electric razor I've owned.
The dry shave is the same as past Norelco Razors. So if you are looking to compare to the dry razors, this one works as good as the other Norelco razors. I normally do a dry shave, with an occasional wet shave.
The wet shave, I use Gillette's Fusion Proglide Sensitive Gel. It works great as a wet razor and I have no skin irritation. I've only owned one wet Norelco Razor prior to this one, and that razor worked fine but no where near as easy to use or clean.
This razor, as mentioned by another post, allows to clean the razor with or without the clean system, which is a plus compared to other razors that only allowed one or the other, as using the cleaning system will charge the razor unnecessarily at times.
The best features are being able to use it as a dry or wet razor, being able to change the power level / speed used (3 speeds to choose from) and being able to see what the actual battery life is. Otherwise, this razor basically compares to other Norelco Razors for both dry or wet, but just combined. It is pricey, I was able to get it for about 55 bucks off due to a Price Match. So you will definitely will want to shop around if you want to save money, like most of us do.
The Con is the detachable side burn razor. It's easy to detach and reattach though, so it's not that big of a deal. But if you like to have an all in one, this razor doesn't offer that.
