Nice looking and very well functioning range

The stove looks and feels high quality. Has a nice modern aesthetic. The knobs are solid looking and operate well. The display controls could be a little more refined, but operate fine. The stovetop heats quickly and adjusts well. The grates are substantial without slowing down heating time. Oven gets to temperature quickly and operates well. Have not tried the griddle yet. I was concerned the black top would make this feel cheaper than a fully stainless steel range, but I think it looks nice in my kitchen and the black finish is actually easier to keep clean than stainless steel. The range was a very good value.

No, it is just a storage drawer.

How do i get the convection feature to work? When i press the button, the fan does not come on and the temperature setting does not change.
The convection fan will turn on once the oven reaches the set temperature. When it needs to fire the burners to heat up again to maintain temperature, the fan turns off. It will turn back on when the burner stops. The fan is very quiet - I can't hear it - but if you turn on the oven light and look at the back wall of the oven, you can see the fan blade(s) when it is not spinning (while the burners are firing) and will see that it is spinning when the burners are off.

Is oven gas or electric?
This is a gas cooktop and gas oven. It has convection (fan) as well.
