Setting up wireless network for some trailers in a work yard
We are living at our shop in another state where our boss wants to provide us with internet at our trailers using wireless off of his internet connection. We need to send the signal maybe a quarter of a mile from the shop to our trailers. We can see the wifi if we open the blinds on our trailers(they are metal blinds) but we only get one bar. I saw this Amped Wireless AP600EX booster online and wonder if this will work for this application. Nobody really knows how to make this work. I bought a little booster for my laptop and it works for me but I don't think its going to work for everyone. If this is not the right thing for our issue can you educate me what to use? Thank you
So far we have only tried to go about 60 ft. which is the distance from original wifi box to the outside deck. We get 4 bars when not by the window and 5 bars when sitting outside the open kitchen window (the kitchen is lined with metal, don't know why they did that before we bought the house). I'm assuming it would be worth a try but can't answer more than that. It does a great job for what we need. I would try to contact a Best Buy techie and see what they can help with. They gave us our advice, we have learned the hard way ( a lot of non working stuff sitting in a store room) to find someone professional what might work best for you. And as always if your anywhere near a store they take returns well if it's not working for you.
