First time owning xbox so cant compare to previous models. My only question so far is, how do i power off the remote if still using the system to either watch movie or downloading a game? Controller does power off after 20 mins of idle time but that seems like a waste of battery for those 20 minutes. Unless i overlooked something?

It will make your remote 9ft total, so depends on if that length is sufficient for you or not (it barely is for me, but i bought the wireless controller as my primary). I think you are better off spending extra $5 for wireless controller vs $10 on an extension cord. But its a preference
