Excellent color and contrast, though just a smidgen of shade in the deepest recesses of the corners. But with the scan rate, and bright, sharp image, the Superbowl was an outstanding experience, along with everything else we watch. The audio is good, but our home theater sound makes it perfect. I'm just glad the sound system we already own has an input for fiber optic cable, because that is the only audio output from this set. This TV doesn't have a VGA input for the computer, but it was a simple solution of just adapting the computer's DVI output to an HDMI cable and inputting it that way. This, by the way, resurrected an older CPU, which now outputs proper format, which it wouldn't do on an older HDTV using a VGA input. This 55" LG unit has a coax connection, 2-HDMI ports, and a set of RCA jack inputs. The RCA connections are for a video composite setup that shares some jacks with standard RCA video inputs, which is a little confusing until you understand its an either/or deal, letting your DVD player hook up with either method. It doesn't have Smart TV, so we didn't have to pay extra for that feature, but we're planning to get a Blu-Ray with WiFi anyway, so that isn't an issue. All in all, we're very happy with this HDTV and bought LG with the expectation that it'll last a long time due to their reputation. Great set at a reasonable price!

I bought a D610 at Best Buy, knowing I would use it with my legacy manual focus lenses from bygone days when I was a pro. Then I got the idea that I wasn't using the camera to its full potential, so I got the 28-300 ED VR lens. This lens is great in that it covers the full range of focal lengths, has Vibration Reduction, and its quick Auto Focus capability makes using Live View a snap. Plus it allows Program and Shutter Priority modes, which are unavailable to MF lenses. But the lens is big and has a large petal shade, which is disproportionate to the D610 sans the battery grip. And I felt that for a lens costing over a grand, the optics should have been slightly crisper, especially at the 28mm end. So thank goodness to Best Buy's generous return policy, I went back to my familiar, old legacy lenses.
