Excellent entry level 3D printer

Before purchasing a 3D printer, I did a lot of research. I thought I had made my final decision at least 3 or 4 times only to read reviews that changed my mind. I really liked one particular model (and the price too) but it used proprietary filament. So I scratched it off my list.
About that time, I started reading reviews about the Mod T. It seemed like a great balance of price and performance, a great entry into the world of 3D printing. I decided to go for it and I am really happy that I did. I have been printing non stop ever since, mostly toys, fidget spinners, neat trinkets, and several home improvement projects. This is a great STEM tool. I have used the opportunity to show my kids the design process. Taking an idea from a sketch to being able to hold it hours later.
The software is very easy since everything runs through Newmatter. You upload your file then use the website to send it to through your wifi to the printer. All of your uploaded parts are saved in your library to be printed at any time. I bought this particular printer knowing that if I didn't like it or I out grew it at some point that I could donate it to a school and they utilize it very easily.
So far I have had one or two build issues but I contacted the support team at Newmatter and they were always very responsive. One issue required me to print the solution and it has worked flawlessly since.
Bottom line:
If you are looking for a solid entry level printer as a hobby or for small design projects, I would would completely recommend this printer. If you are looking for large build capability or the choice for different build materials (ABS, etc.) just be prepared to pay a lot more for the printer

Fantastic smart thermostat

I have the ecobee thermostats for our upstairs and downstairs units. I looked at Nest as well but I chose this product because you could add more remote sensors in individual rooms. Ecobee also works really well with Amazon echo, just ask Alexa to set the temperature to whatever you want and it's done. I also use the app to control temp and schedules. There is a feature that will switch to "away" if it doesn't detect anyone is home. No sense in heating or cooling an empty house. I have heard it has a geofencing option but I have not used that yet.
The installation was very easy and everything was spelled out for different HVAC unit types. I would definitely recommend this thermostat to anyone looking to upgrade.

If the AC blows air equally throughout the house, how will this thermostat with the different room sensors regulate how much air flows in each area? The sensors make sense, but how does it control the air that goes in the different rooms?
Short answer is that it does not redirect flow to different rooms, you would need baffles for that. Instead the unit tries to average out the temp in each room. Have a room that is always more hot than the rest? The thermostat will run a little longer to cool it off. It doesn't freeze the other rooms though, it's looking to balance everything out by getting an average temperature. It just makes everything more comfortable. The sensors also detect motion which is how the unit knows if anyone is home or not
