Be careful buying from Best Buy vs Samsung

I pre-ordered and purchased the Samsung S8+ from Best Buy on 4/22/17. Unfortunately, I'm having a pixeling issue with the phone. I take the phone back to Best Buy and they are unable to replace my S8+ phone since I'm out of the 14 day window. The Samsung reps at best buy assure me that Samsung will replace my new phone within a few days if I call and file a claim. I call best buy mobile help on the card provided by the bb Samsung experience rep. Eventually, I get transferred to Samsung. Samsung advises that because I didn't purchase the phone directly from samsung that I was ineligible for a replacement and could only send in my phone for repair with expected return time of 9 days. If this is Samsung's protocol for Best Buy, why on earth would I ever purchase a phone from Best Buy again?!!! I like best buy and the convenience generally offered. However, I have been strongly discouraged from ever buying a phone from Best Buy again. In addition, the VR and Samsung kit with headphones and mem card had to be ordered from Samsung in a timely manner. However, I couldn't order without proof of purchase and IMEI. As a result by 4/22/17, all special entertainment kits with the mem card, vr and headphones were sold out. If I would have purchased directly from Samsung, I could have beat the rush and got the highly anticipated Samsung kit for a nominal fee. Instead I stayed faithful to Best Buy and get burned by only getting the vr kit and no one honoring the replacement of month old phone. I realize it's 9 day turnaround, but this process is really disappointing and I feel I should have ordered my two phones from Samsung vs Best Buy. Tough lesson to learn.
