This laptop has been a nightmare out of the box. From the moment my wife started it up, we had nothing but problems. An i5 with 8gbs of ram shouldn't take 20 minutes to boot. We reinstalled windows just to be safe & the problem persisted. We reached out to the horrible outsourced HP tech support who recommended we reinstall windows (again). He gave us a contact number to call back when it was done but that number was not valid. Long story short, it was past the 14 day return date (or was it 7? I forgot what the receipt said) so we now use it as a dust collector. I would use it for external storage but but the time the thing boots up, a new high tech fancy drive will be released to the public.
Avoid this laptop. It's junk.

Few pro tips for those of you buying this for gaming. These monitors come out of the box at 1080p 1920x1080 (native) with a 60hz refresh rate. In order to achieve the advertised 144Hz, you need to enter your display settings (for those running the Nvidia series items simply visit the nvidia control panel & select "change resolution" under display. Scroll on down the list to PC & select 1920 x 1080 & now you can select 144Hz.
Also, most games (like overwatch, warcraft, etc.) have separate in game settings under their video settings. You will also want to select 144Hz in game.
Once that's set, enjoy your new way of gaming. I set my BenQ to the side & now I am proud to rock this new Asus. I will update this post if anything changes in the near future.

No it's not the high end ultra 4k TV you might want but that's not what you will get at a $300 price point. This TV currently resides in my man cave & is utilized for background noise & some basic gaming. If you are looking for a crazy refresh rate or a crystal clear image, this isn't the TV for you. If you are looking for a good picture & access to all that roku has to offer on a budget price? This is your go too TV. I love it.
