Nice Dishwasher, some curious design choices

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First-time homeowners ten years in and it was time to update appliances. We go this Samsung storm wash and was very happy with the features, but lower rack doesn't really fit our pots, pans or dishware. I know this is a relative problem, but I think leaning toward a more generic layout would be better. There are sections for your plates to be tightly arranged, but then the spaces for bowls or pots and pans seem to be either too large or too small. But either way, the dishes get washed. Just like any dishwasher, if you don't pre-wash, food debris and particles will be left on any upper rack glasses with "catch areas," so don't expect any miracles...that's just gravity. Otherwise, it's a good appliance. I like it.
