My dishwasher stopped working a month after I bought it
on August 14, 2014
Posted by: DisappointedinVA
from Richmond, VA, USA
very finicky. Wouldn't start. I had to throw the circuit breaker many times to get the dishwasher to start. This is the worst appliance I've ever bought. For the money, this should have been the best one I'd ever bought.
Cons: Poor quality, too expensive
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Jimmy0212,

When something goes wrong with your dishwasher, such as an error code or if it's not draining, you may think all that's needed is a good reset. Please refer to this link https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00087943/ on how to reset your Samsung dishwasher.

This dishwasher is very quite, at least most of the time and my kids like the little ding-dong songs it plays when you press the buttons. I guess it looks fine. The adjustable top rack adjusts well enough between the two positions. The inside (where no one looks) seems to stay shiny. I guess that's nice too.
That completes the positive part of the review. For the remainder, I'll try to go in order of greatest annoyance to least. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Samsung until now. I've had quite a few of their products and have been very happy with them overall, but this has soured that relationship quite significantly.
This dishwasher has absolutely terrible cleaning performance. I have used several name-brand, high quality detergents, tried stacking dishes differently, pre-rinsed everything, even pre-washing anything that looked even slightly messy and checked the little nozzles in the arms but it makes no difference. This dishwasher doesn't clean dishes well. It didn't the first day and it hasn't any day since. Since this is task number one for a dishwasher (washing dishes, that is), this is a really big fail right there. I included a picture of some bowls in my last load. I load them now skipping tines so they're not "stacked" AT ALL, the bottom of the first bowl and the top of the second are an inch apart, LOTS of space between them, yet look what's left. And please note that food residue is soft and rinsed off.
It is quiet but only when I the drain pump isn't running. For some unfathomable reason when you turn it on and close the door, the first thing it does is noisily try to drain the dishwasher for about 4 or 5 seconds. At a couple of other points throughout the cycles it'll do the same thing for anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds. Otherwise it's reasonably quiet.
This dishwasher uses rinse aid at least 4 or 5 times as fast as our old one. And since it doesn't really get the dishes very clean, "costs 5x as much in rinse aid" isn't really a useful "feature" to have.
All of the prongs that hold dishes are too close together and are too vertical. I know Samsung would like you to believe that you can put 12 place settings in it, but you can't because they'll never come clean. All your dishes will fall over anyway because the tines are terribly spaced and angled, but I don't think I need to belabor that point because it's my own fault for not having brought enough of my dishes to the store to test with. Anyway, if you put just a single well-rinsed glass, plate and fork in it you'll have a better than 50% chance they'll all come out clean. Anything more and I'll guarantee at least one item (probably 4 or 5) will need to have food remnants chipped out of it and rewashed by hand. Sometimes with all the pre-rinsing I've had to learn to do I think that this dishwasher *adds* food to the load. I can't think of any other reason so much food detritus would be left otherwise.
There's no way to turn off the heated dry setting, which basically is just a "bake on all the food particles I left on your dishes so you have to chip them off."
Pros: sometimes quiet, nicer "beeps" than usual
Cons: terrible dishwashing performance, high rinse-aid consumption, terrible interior layout
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Breaks often
on November 30, 2014

Installed the dishwasher 1 year ago and for the second time in the last 12 months it has stopped working with a "Temperature Sensor error" code that requires a technician to come out and replace. When it runs, it is very quiet and does an excellent job cleaning dishes, but it breaks far to often to be considered reliable.
Cons: Poor quality, breaks often
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not only is this the worst dishwasher we've ever owned, it's the worst appliance we've ever owned. I'd even go as far to say it's the worst product we ever owned. Did a marginal job when it did work. It's already broken twice on us. Would I recommend it to a friend? I wouldn't recommend it to an enemy.
Cons: Poor quality, not reliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst Dishwasher Imaginable

This is a poor excuse for a dishwasher. If you purchase it you will have to wash your dishes twice and when you remove them , you will have to wash them again. Glasses , silverware, ceramic , or porcelain dishes , having been rinsed well prior to being put in the dishwasher all come out with food stains and food particles on them. It belongs off the market. IMine is new . It does NOT CLEAN DISHES.
Pros: handle matches my samsung refrigerator
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, does not clean dishes
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Piece of junk!

This is the worst appliance purchase I've ever made.
The racks are strangely arranged and collapse (intentional feature, but why?). The silverware caddies are tiny. When you start it, it may complete the cycle, it may not, you get to find out later. There is no heating element, so dishes don't feel clean when the cycle actually decides to complete.
Think twice about this one are really look at the arrangement inside before purchasing. I purchased as a set with Samsung refrigerator, stove and microwave.
