[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] AA Coppertop batteries were able to power my child's handheld toy all the way to and from Long Island New York from Michigan. The batteries lasted through pictures, videos and games. The AA Coopertop batteries gave strong power and lasted longer than the leading brand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the opportunity to try the Duracell Coppertop Batteries. I have had no troubles with them at all and they have lasted a decent amount of time. I tried them in out Wii remotes...which we go through batteries like crazy. These are definitely lasting longer than the batteries we normally use!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my sample AA and AAA batteries from Duracell and I immediately put them in my camping lighting gear. After a week away my lantern and flashlight shone as bright as the first night.
I like having and using my solar rechargeable batteries as my primary power sources, but I will always have Duracell batteries in my bag.

Dissapointed

I would usually rate Duracell Coppertops 10 out of 10. However, I have an Oregon Scientific Projector Clock where I used 2 Duracell AA batteries as a back up in the event of a powerfailure. Its now Dec 2010 and the batteries have an expiry date of Mar 2011 on them. The power went off the other day and I checked on the batteries as the clock display failed also. I was horrified to see a mineral build up on the end of both batteries that had corroded both ends of the batteries and the metal connections for the batteries inside the clock. The batteries were stuck inside the clock and seemed to be fused with a sugary like mineral deposit to the metal parts of the clock. There was also a slightly moist presence in the battery compartment which came from the batteries. I used force and a penknife and was able to remove the batteries. I cleaned what was left of the contact points and replaced the batteries with new Duracell ones. The clock was dead! I called Duracell and spoke with their representative and she agreed to replace the batteries and also to send me $30 to replace the clock in Costco, where I bought it. However, I don't think the model I had is currently available. I use Duracell batteries most of the time and obey basic battery guidelines. Generally they are a great product but I wonder how I would feel if I had used these batteries in a more expensive piece of equipment. I will continue to use Duracell but if these leak - do Duracell need to improve their sealing procedure in this product?

Exploding 9v Battery
on August 7, 2011

Always had good luck with Duracell batteries, but we had a strange occurrence yesterday. My wife said she heard a loud bang in the hallway and couldn’t figure out what caused it. Then the smoke alarm started to beep as if the battery had failed, she said the bang may have been caused by the battery exploding. Sure enough, when I got home and inspected the alarm, the bottom of the 9v battery had blown off the casing and it was very difficult to get out of the smoke alarm. A little scary and makes you wonder...........hum?

9 volt battery exploded, no damage, twice in 30 da

I use only Duracell 9 volt batteries in my security system. I have used hundreds in the past 20 years. I have never had a battery to come apart at the bottom. In the past 30 days, I have experienced two battery failures. The whole bottom rips open and several metal stakes come out of the battery housing. My house is air conditioned and cool, so I don't believe heat has caused the problem. Can you explain what is happening?

Leaking AA Pile AlcalineRuins Expensive TV Remote

AA Battery Dated (sn. MN 1500 LR6) Dated good until March 2016 has leaked and corroded remote control for Mitsubishi after only 6 months use. Very suprised at leakage, damage and corrision as a result. Have used Duracell for years (always 1st choice) and have always found it to be most reliable and long lasting. I can only hope that this particular battery was a fluke and not a negative trend in future quality.
