I use this as a second computer in our home. Love the size (small and lightweight.) But large enough so my fingers can find the keys. Very convenient in the kitchen to look up recipes Online using our home WiFi. And very little weight when I put the computer in my lap and check e-mail anywhere in the house. It is networked to my main computer so I can reference any document without having to save it to the HP Stream and take up its rather limited memory. I attend conferences from time to time and will use the computer to take notes. Portable enough to carry around all day.
On the downside, the computer came loaded with unnecessary software, much of it commercial or promotional and from my point of view totally useless. Also as a Windows 7 user I found Windows 8 to be totally baffling. So I hired a tech person to strip the bloated software and set up the OS to look like Windows 7. Since the computer doesn't have much memory, it's important to remove as much unneeded software as possible.
Don't expect this computer to be a high-powered do-it-all model. But it's a good choice as a second computer to carry around especially if you do not own a tablet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This laptop is small light and is the absolute best.o never go anywhere without it.Im presently using it to write my thesis and it's simply amazing I have no regrets.

Nice compact computer

Great little computer. Gets the job done and easy to use while watching tv in the evenings.
The only little problem I have so far is when typing I seem to make a lot of errors. I feel like I am hitting the correct keys but I seem to leave a lot of letters out of words.
I would still highly recommend this computer.

Fast but fiddly

This is my first device using Windows 8. The speed of the unit is great and I can access my spreadsheets and documents with ease. My only problem was the different things that happen when you touch different parts of the mouse pad. I've been used to having full coverage of the pad but tapping the top or side sections pops up with things I wasn't expecting. I now use a USB mouse for this laptop - problem solved. The layout of the Outlook on Windows 8 is very confusing and I find it hard to access certain mails that it appears to want to archive by itself vs displaying it on an earlier Windows platform (My work computer still has good old XP on). This of course is more of a software issue. As a notebook this unit is light and easily portable. For web browsing and document work, this is a great piece

This is one of the best little laptops I have ever used. I am writing my latest book on it that I will adapt and produce as a movie--thanks to this HP Stream.
