Like features and looks

I have had this range for over 12 years in my previous home and loved it so much that I ordered it again for the home we were building.
I knew it was a good quality range and had never had any problems with it.
This new range looks the same and has the same feature but upon looking at it closely, both my husband and I notice there is an area under the glass on the front left burner that looks like a splotch under the glass and is a different color. At first I thought I could live with it ( we have been in the house about a month and I have used the range maybe 6 times ...obviously I don't cook much). I am very fussy about keeping the stovetop clean and polished, which makes this defective area even more obvious. I have tried to take a picture of it but it won't take on the dark, dotted surface.
I have not yet contacted GE but that is my next step, so will update you on how they handle this issue.
My advice is to look the range over VERY carefully upon delivery. However, this is hard to notice until you turn on the range hood light...then it is pretty obvious.
I love this stove, but am saddened that I get a new one with a surface that is damaged more than the one I had for 12 years.

I bought this 3 months ago. Looks good. Design is good. However it is hard to do cleaning, especially glass, if to compare with previous model.

Good but could be improved

Overall we like this range but the burners can't simmer -- they're way hotter than simmer even when at the lowest setting. We've learned to use pots/pans with large circumferences and then change the burner setting to the smallest circle plus put it on low and then remember to stir often so it doesn't burn. I also don't like how long it takes to pre-heat. My 20+ year old range heated much more quickly and the simmer feature worked. They don't make 'em like they used to. Now appliances have more gadgets, higher prices and worse quality overall.

Nightmare to keep glass cook top looking clean

I have always bought GE appliances and recently just purchased all new appliances. Loved my old GE slide in stove similar in looks to this one however the cook top on this model is impossible to keep clean. If I use water it streaks and even after buffing still looks horrible. The only way to get it looking clean is by using the ceramic bryte, scrubbing and then buffing...so unrealistic for a stove top. My old stove I could wipe with a sponge and it dried streak free. This is a nightmare to keep clean and for light spills I shouldn’t have to go thru all of the above steps. I almost think it’s defective because I just can’t believe its normal to be that time consuming to clean after each and every use. Other than the cook top I like the features of the oven unfortunately it’s hard not to notice a dirty looking black glass cooktop in a kitchen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It'll Do.

We have been using this range for 2.5 months.....oven works well. Not happy with how difficult it is to get the glass cooktop really clean. We are using the recommended cleaning product - Cerama Bryte - but it will never have that out of box new look again. Have had to learn about the slow response to changing the heat settings on the cooktop .....such as going from a high setting to medium or low. Takes too long.....often have to remove the cooking pan from the cooktop until the lower temperature is reached to assure food doesn't overcook or burn.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazed at how very quick the burners and oven heat up. I’m very pleased. The only thing that bugs me is after operating the oven, the cooling fan runs a long time and the noise is quite noticeable.

Have used this appliance for about 6 months now. Bought convection expecting it to cook faster. It doesn’t. Came without an operations Manuel and can’t figure out the timer. Use another appliance to set my timer. Top is hard to clean.
