Scratches easy

I bought this less than a month ago and it already has a scratch or mark. I had my old GE for 14 years and it wasn't scratched up. My husband cooked spaghetti and now my stove top looks awful.
The oven and stove work well just not happy about scratching so easily.

Looks Great, one thing missing

While its a great looking product one thing is missing. The stove needs side strips to seal the glass edge to the counter top. I'm sure there will be some normal food prep spills that will get under the glass edge. I will be using a high temp sealer to seal gap so normal kitchen crud doesn't get underneath.

slate slide-in range

We remodeled our kitchen in November '16 and purchased all new GE slate appliances - range, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher (replacing 20 year old GE appliances). I've waited to review to make sure all items were working well. The greatest angst over purchasing (to say nothing of the poor salesperson who had to deal with me!) was the range. I primarily worried about two issues -- the over-hang edges at the front since we were planning on beveled edge countertop and didn't want a space to show; and the oven cleaning since I was used to the high heat cleaning. I first tried the steam clean feature when a pie ran over and baked on the bottom. The steam clean did not touch it at all. So I went to the heat self-clean and it worked perfectly. I note that the fan running bothers some, but I don't think it is loud at all and I open the door to speed the cool-down so no problem. I worry about scratches on the top but I've never had a flat top before so in time I may "baby the top" less. Regarding the edge overhang, we purchased cambria countertops and had them run the bevel just to the edge of the overhang (leaving a square edge under overhang) and if we ever get another range that doesn't have an overhang they can continue the bevel. Suggestion for future design -- don't have the overhang on slide in ranges and make the oven door thicker or make the side of the oven that shows have at least 1" of slate rather than black. It would be nice to see only slate from the side view. By the way, love the slate finish and it works very well with my ivory cabinets and Cambria Darlington countertop!

Wonderful stove and value!

We purchased this stove as a replacement to an existing cooktop and cabinet and as a second oven. It was a great value and has worked wonderfully since installing. A lot of the reviewers complained about the fan being too loud and having to go into the other room to speak to one another, but that is very far from the case. The fan is very quiet and you can stand right next to it and barely even know it is running. People also complained about the length of time the fan ran after turning off, but it is about normal time. If they would like it to run shorter times after shutdown just open the oven door and it cuts the time way down. This is a great stove and definitely was a great addition to our kitchen!

Satisfied with some drawbacks

The key board is shinny and difficult to see for the elderly with weak eye sight. Back lighting would help. Bottom front drawer cover's framework that it is attached to is flimsy (weak) and the cover bends outward easily. Should be more robust.

Fan runs forever
