WHO DESIGNED THIS RANGE?

First of all the range works just fine. I have no complaints bout the performance. But the design is terrible! First of all, the Controls Lock only locks the oven and the control panel. When the burner controls are most in need of a lock. The slightest touch can turn on a burner. And with the controls located right in the front, that could be a disaster. The Control Lock should lock every function. Second complaint is that the range does not fit all the way to the back wall. There is a gap that can be filled in with a strip that is attached to the back of the range. The problem with that is that the strip is too wide and it makes the range protrude about an inch further than it should. So it doesn't line up with the counter top. Whoever designed this range has absolutely no idea of how a kitchen functions. GE should hire a homemaker who actually uses kitchen appliances to design their appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this slide in! Love how it fits right up to the granite on either side!
Love the extra room on the inside with 3 racks! The warming station on top surface is also great to keep a pot warm while finishing up the other dishes.

useless 12 , 9 and 6 inch element

Bought 3 month ago thrilled to find a 12 inch element for our large pan cooked casseroles such as our cacciatore recipes !!! The little power boil element renders it useless except to power boil . It is too hot and tends to burn the meal due to the concentrated heat of the little burner.May be great for boiling pasta or crab legs... but stove top cooking or frying has been impossible with the 12-9-6 inch element...

I bought this about two months ago and if I could return it I would. It is very, very cheaply made and I am very disappointed with it. The so called convection oven blows hot air out into the room, so I definatly would not recommend this oven in hot climates. I would not recommend it at all!
