Perfect Fit and Options

Pros
- Very good looking and many options - nice sleek black. Heard some horror stories about replacement ranges' width being standard at 30" and concerned about having to cut my counter. Surprised that it was @1/4" shy of 30" and slide right in, after adjusting height.
- Has many options - 80% I won't end up using, but all included.
- Top cleans up well with spills and grease
- Read issues with grates difficult coming out and door opening limited.... I haven't noticed any of these...
Cons
Not really much cons here w/o getting too picky,,,,,,but:
- Range feels and looks "solid", but bottom drawer feels "flimsy" opening and closing - not sure if it's rails or what, but really don't use it that much, so no big deal.
- Feet a little tricky to adjust, just getting tools onto and adjusting - and they are plastic. But I guess you only need top adjust once, so another no big deal.
- If these are the worst things I can think of - then overall must be pretty good.....

Size does matter!

Previous to my new GE, I had a JenAir. It had a two-burner stove top and grill and absolutely no oven space. Great for a couple, however I can fruits and vegetables, make jams and jellies, and host holiday meals for our growing family. My new GE not only has large burners for my canner, but the oven is full size! I'm loving it!!

Good, but you will have a gap..filler is NOT 30in

Overall good oven, but don't buy unless you're getting new countertops. As you'll see in other reviews the back filler part is ONLY 29 7/8 in wide!!...you will have a gap/hole at the corners. You can buy after market fillers to correct, but I can't believe GE hasn't fixed this yet.

Will be Great

I got this stove about a month ago. I love the oven and have used it a lot and have tried the convection and was great. The stove top is going to take a little getting used to. Stove top cooks hotter and the glass is much thicker than my old one so it holds the heat a lot longer. That's good for cooking because you don't have to cook things as high, but simmer has been almost impossible with a lid on a pot or frypan, still bubbles to fast, so am using a smaller burner so that it will cook slower. I have found that I can cut the burner off a few minutes early because it will still keep cooking. A little power saving is great. Because the glass stays hot so long even after the light has gone out the top is still warm and you can't clean it with cleaner until it has cooled this may be a couple hours after I cook. The solid black top shows every bit of dust in the air, maybe rethink the a solid color, put some white specks in so you don't see ever dust mote in your kitchen. The product overall is great and would have got an excellent from me except for the inconvenience of going back to the kitchen a few hours later to clean the stove and it not simmering on lowest setting for the pot size.

Just got this after using a wall oven and downdraft cooktop for many years. Cooks well. Larger volume that my wall oven. Can put in 2 cookie trays. 4 star because steam comes out into my face when I open the oven door. Takes a bit to adjust to that. Looks great, evenly cooks food. Good value of looks and function for price.

A lot to like, a few flaws

We bought this range to replace one that had lasted 36 years, so we were pleasantly surprised at all the features modern ranges have. We like the smooth cooktop which wipes off much more easily than our old coil burners. We have noticed though that the new, hot plastic smell still is present many times when we are using the cooktop, even though we have used all the burners many times in the months since buying the range. Also, the front panel where the knobs and controls are located gets and stays very hot when the front burners are used, which makes us nervous because of the electronics in that area and the continued hot plastic smell. We will be monitoring that to see if it is a defect in our unit, or is typical. We like that the control panel has a lock button to turn off certain controls, but it seems very strange to us that the oven door itself cannot be locked except when cleaning mode is turned on. We have twin toddlers, and are worried about their safety. Our old range had a lever that could be pulled across to lock the oven door, and the need for an oven lock would seem an obvious feature to keep in newer ranges as well. We do like that the knobs are easy to remove when the cooktop is not in use.

This stove is beautiful! So much prettier than stainless. I just installed granite, and this stove (and the dishwasher) are the understated blending of color I could not have achieved without the slate color. I used to own a bread company, and I am very happy with the baking results. First time with glass top, and very happy with that as well.
