recommend by dentist for pressure sensor. press as hard as you like, nothing changes. if you're looking for a pressure sensor, look elsewhere.

Proven results!

I have been using Oral B for many years and am currently on my 3rd one (due to battery not charging any longer). After my 2nd Oral B toothbrush died, I decided to try the "other" brand for something different. After starting to use it, I didn't feel like my teeth were getting as clean. My next dental cleaning appointment confirmed my suspicions. I experienced the worst and longest cleaning I have ever had. My hygienist noticed something was different as well and commented that there was a lot more buildup and gum irritation than usual. After that appointment I marched straight to the store and purchased a new Oral B. Upon using, my teeth immediately started to feel and look cleaner. I just had my 6 month cleaning and this appointment went much smoother and shorter, with considerably less buildup, better gum health and less irritation. My hygienist was amazed and definitely noticed the difference (for the better). I will never again use anything else but my Oral B.

It brushes extremely well but......

I so want to give a 5 star rating for this product but I can't. Why? Not for the brushing detail or for its timer. The brush does a great job in fulling those things. My major issue is that according to the package, the brush charge is suppose to last for a month and it barely last for a week. What's up with that? Did I that happen to purchase a defective model? Anyway until then, I can't give it 5 stars which is too bad because it does everything else so well.

I have another Oral-B toothbrush in Florida with speed controls. This 1000 brush actually is too fast for me. Wish I knew before purchasing it!

Good brush, but pressure sensor is a useless gimmick

I bought this brush for my wife, who requested that I buy her a brush with a pressure sensor because she tends to brush too hard and only knows this when her body's pressure sensor (blood) tells her this. I bought this brush on the advertisement of its pressure sensor which "stops pulsations when too much pressure is applied." Either Oral-B's assembly branch forgot to put the pressure sensor in this brush or it only senses pressure above 50 ft lbs. Testing this "pressure sensor" cpapability on your hand reveals no sort of sensor exists or any reactionary controls to too much pressure being applied. You'll drive this toothbrush through your hand and your screams will be the only notification that too much pressure has been applied before the toothbrush will notify you. Funny thing is, if you apply the slightest pressure to the back of the brush head, there is a considerable amount of power removed from the brush and the head stops moving. Is the mechanism installed backwards? Why couldn't the brush do this when you apply more than enough pressure? I will be taking this brush and instead purchase a Pro 3000 since it has a visible light to notify the user when too much pressure has been applied. I noticed that Oral-B sells it's entire line in Europe with this light in the handle on all its models, including the Pro 1000.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Charging
on September 25, 2014

I Haven't had a chance to use the Oral-B Precision 1000. It's been on the charger for over 9 hours. The blinking light indicates it's still charging. The manual says it will stop blinking when it's fully charged. Seems like a long time to fully charge.

Great toothbrush but where do you store your brushes ????

I have used these toothbrushes for many years and carry it with me when I travel so the more compact it is the better. I do prefer the round toothbrush head and storage for at least 1 toothbrush. They also fit in a cabinet better if they are more compact. I hope you will consider this for your future models.

My mom got me this as a Christmas gift but it stopped charging after a few months. Pretty expensive toothbrush to fail to quickly. Very disappointing.
