I have been a dental hygienist for 22 years and I suggest this product to my patients who are care givers to the elderly and or if they have a child who is physically challenged. I have patients who can't eat by mouth so they have no stimulation in the oral cavity. This toothbrush stimulates the gingival tissue and does a great job cleaning the teeth.
I have grown up with the manual toothbrushes all my life and moving to an electric toothbrush was awesome. But I followed the trend, a different company, and the results were good. I then switched to this Oral-B ProfessionalCare 1000 and it is already better than my last! I can see a better clean and works great!
The Oral B Professional Care 1000 brush met my expectations. It is light weight easy to handle and position. The small brush head allows for more accurate positioning, but it does take longer to brush because you are only brushing one tooth at a time.
When I was getting my teeth cleaned, my dentist suggested that I switch from manual toothbrush to electric. The reason was that manual toothbrushes may cause enamel wearing, whereas electric toothbrushes clean very evenly, lowering chances of enamel wear. I took the advice and bought the Oral-B Professional Care 1000 and it works 100 times better than manually brushing. I don't have to worry about brushing in circles because the head swishes in a circular motion and it has a built in timer that reminds me to move on to the next section of my mouth. It is one of the best purchases I have ever made. My teeth feel smoother using this toothbrush because it cleans all the plaque building up in my mouth. When I had my manual toothbrush, sometimes I missed a few spots on my teeth and would feel the plaque after I had already finished brushing. It honestly makes a huge difference using electric- especially the Oral-B Professional Care 1000 with its ergonomic features. It is not too bulky, which used to be my fear when looking for an electric toothbrush. It is slim and the blue part has a nice grip. Hope this helps!
