No sensor

False advertising, this toothbrush has no sensor, pressed as hard as I could and was never notified for pressure.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're very sorry to hear you had a disappointing experience with your Oral-B Pro 1000 toothbrush. Our products go through many quality checks to ensure they perform to our high standards, so we will share your experience with our Quality team. The way this brush's pressure sensor informs users if they're brushing too hard is by slowing down the oscilation of the bristles on brush head. If you notice your brush start to feel like it has less power, it's telling you that you are applying too much pressure. We'd like to learn more about your experience, so please give us a call at 1(800) 566-7252.

Terrible to control

Do not buy if you have any hand disability! The body is slick plastic that gets extremely difficulty to hold onto if it gets water or toothpaste suds on it. My old model had a rubber front and a ridged back that allowed a much better grip. Probably it’s cheaper to make the smooth body than the one that had the rubber insert. I have had to wrap rubber bands around the handle to gain any control.

Just bought this...
on December 22, 2012

Oh man! I actually look forward to brushing my teeth now! I had that "other one" and I ended up getting that "dingy-mouth" feeling only a few hours into my day. Now, with The Oral-B 1000, my mouth stays feeling clean until my second brushing.
If you're worried about any "features" missing, this one has 'em all. I also love the fact that I can use a wide variety of replacement heads. That's the real kicker for me. Definitely a purchase I would make again!
Made a great Christmas gift too! I hope!
I know, I sound overly excited about this but, what can I say, I love my teeth and they love me!
I would recommend this to a friend!

battery life is not great
on October 26, 2020
Posted by: cherryrouge
i’ve had my toothbrush for three weeks now. it cleans your teeth nicely but my problem is the fact that it has a terrible battery life. this is my first electric toothbrush, so i’m not sure if it’s normal or not, but it takes 22 hours and sometimes longer just for it to fully charge. and then once it’s done charging, i use it one time for two minutes and the battery light is blinking red telling me it’s already low again. its strange and a little frustrating. it’s also very loud and kind of sounds like a lawn mower. so heads up in case that’s something that may bother you. not sure if i can recommend this toothbrush though, based on the battery life alone.
Cons: Durability
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Oral-B Pro 1000 has a charge time of 22 hours and should be running up to 7 days on one charge. We’re disappointed to hear this hasn’t been your experience, so we’d like to learn more and help! Please give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

Died Right After Warranty Expired
on January 9, 2014
Posted by: Canoemandan
This is our 3rd Oral B toothbrush purchase. Our last one lasted a very long time.....probably longer than Oral B would have liked. When that finally died, we bought Oral B again because we had such a good experience. We bought two more upon our last purchase. Now, one seems okay yet but, the other is just noisy, slow, and the charge runs out quickly. Maybe the brushes were lasting too long and Oral B engineers were told to engineer them to fail. I guess we'll buy another Oral B but if we have the same experience I'm going to look at other brands.

Oral b professional
on March 1, 2014

Our office highly recommends not only this model but all oral B electric toothbrushes with a round brush head. We have found as a periodontal practice that the round head tends to allow patients better brushing at the gum line and the oral B is easy to use and encourages longer brushing time. I personally switched to this from a "sonic" tooth brush and feel like I am getting a much better clean. I have personally disclosed after each type of brush and the oral b was much more efficient . I hope oral b continues with a round brush head alternative on all their brushes. I would look forward to trying other oral b products!

Cheaply made. No holder for brush heads
on April 3, 2014

Oral B has really cheapened their products. Sure they've added operational features, but that can be easily done with a programmed chip in the controls. They eliminated the larger stand with the holder for brush heads. I have a family of 6. The boys had their own unit, and my wife and I had ours. Each had a storage holder in the base. The new Oral B brushes have nowhere to store the brushes. What were they thinking? I'm spending a fortune annually for replacement brush heads.
I wonder if I can plug the new brush unit into my old recharger/storage stand?
PS. I hope that someone from Oral B responds to this comment and explains the perceived advantage of removing the brush holder.
