My 2002 side by side, was hard to give up,
after getting the French door fridge, but slowly it grew on me and my wife.
We are very happy so far, with our new GE.

Lost space in the freezer compared to side by side. The doors are too heavy and won't shut on their own. Problem with icemaker - powder released.

I received this appliance when I purchased my house. The size is great, but I would rather have a dedicated door area for the water and another for the ice. The fridge is a bit loud when it runs, and i might be missing a small door drawer in the freezer, but overall it is a nice appliance.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ice maker still leaks water after using and makes white stains that are hard to remove. Top ice maker ice doesn't always come out easily in either form.
Overall there isn't a lot of shelf space. One shelf is lost due to splitting it for milk and larger items and second shelf had to be removed to fit taller items.
