Nice and Roomy!

This is replacing a side by side. While the freezer is on the bottom, it has drawers in it, so you do not have to dig way deep for what you need to get out of the freezer. There are two icemakers, one in the door and one in the freezer. That will be good for backup! Lots of space on the doors. On the right side, there is room for gallons of milk, and the shelves are adjustable for height. The shelves on the left side are very narrow, mostly room for just jelly jars and slim ice cream topping type bottles. Two spacy drawers for fruit and vegetables and one drawers the is the width of the interior for meat, eggs, etc. It has some great features like turbo charging for fast cooling and an alarm if a door is left open. It looks like it will be a great refrigerator.
I would recommend this to a friend!

great lighting

Purchased this fridge after having GE for 20 years. Thought brand could be trusted. Bottom ice maker which didn't fill initially, I was told to unplug refrigerator then plug back in, ice maker does work but took 4 days to fill and continue to have same issue with slow ice on bottom. I was told the filter needed to be changed, fridge less then 2 weeks old! Makes two types of very loud noises, certainly not normal. When initially heard noises thought someone was knocking at front door with dog barking running to door and also being woke up through the night from noises. Finally figured out it's the brand new refrigerator which I never expected. Water dispenser on door continues to drip well after used and no drip tray to catch it. Now wish I would have listened to previous reviews. Now stuck with something that doesn't work properly is pricey and certainly not intended to purchase on a regular bases. GE let me down on this one. Sad to see this happened on what I thought was such a good brand.

Had to have this refrigerator fixed after 3 months

This was a replacement fridge for the same fridge we had bought in March and had issues with. Now we have only had this replacement for 3 months and the same issue of not cooling occurred.

Died in less than 1.5 years

Very disappointed with the quality and service from GE Appliances. The refrigerator stopped working after less than 1.5 years of my purchase. According to the certified appliances lead technician it has an internal leak issue and is irreparable. I have been having terrible experience with this product that discourages me of buying or recommending any other GE Appliances.

Poor purchase option.

I have owned this appliance for over a year now and it is becoming quite a pain. The deli, beverage drawer in the bottom won’t stay shut anymore. Had to stop using the upper ice maker due to it leaking non stop. The water filters are over priced.
Also bought the electric range, dishwasher and microwave with the fridge and aside from the microwave they are all disappointing.
Overall I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this appliance.

Since the day I got the gfe28hshdss side by side anything that could go wrong DID. Almost every year for 5 years. Food spoiled due to temperature changed. Its the fan, circuit board, it needs a calibration. 5 years REALLY 5 years of service. Not worth the $$$. LEMON REFRIGERATOR.

Worst refrigerator I ever owned

Going on year five of this crappy refrigerator motherboard went out within the first six months never has cooled and froze the way it really should now it’s 58° all froze up inside
