looks good but noisy

looks good but the noise it too loud for a modern appliance or open concept houses.
The previous reviewer who stated the noise is like an old fluorescent bulb but higher is spot on.The compressor is too loud.
the send ice bin in the lower draw gets very little use so we turned it off.
Went from side by side to french door and glad i did. No more bending for my bad back, everything is at your height now.

Unusual sound

We purchased this unit and have consistently visited with the local dealer regarding the unusual loud sound of the compressor I think. They said today the buzzing noise is characteristic of this this make. Has this been reported before? Has GE been able to solve this issue? We are not satisfied at all with this purchase!

User friendly it fits my space needs & personality

This is my 2nd GE refrigerator. My 1st was still a GE side by side it was just too small for my family size. I decided to upgrade still staying with GE I purchased the entire "Slate"4 piece package. I now have the top refridg /bottom freezer which I totally ADORE it's capacity ,capabilities and it's neo-classic slate beauty which would blend well with any kitchen style or decor. My 1 and only suggestion would be to design a
H2o / ice dispenser tray that better catches & retains overflow. Even GE's S b S tray functioned more effectively. All i can say is that after so many years I've come back to where it all began for me and that's "G E" I love my entire slate kitchen suite

Great fridge, but fan failed after 3 months

We love the layout of this fridge. Had to replace fan under warranty 3 months in, but other wise love it.

Expected better for the price.

Refrigerator makes more fan noise than expected. Had a blower fan failure within first two months. Issue was handled by GE service. Has been running fine since. Overall does what I need it to do. Still noisy.

I bought this new refrigerator about 2 months ago in the Slate color and I just love it. It is large enough to hold everything my family needs and keeps everything conveniently in reach. The easy to move glass selves make cleaning up a snap. The dual ice makers make sure you have enough ice for all your needs. The slate color really looks sharp in my newly redecorated kitchen too.
