Ice maker has the worst design I have ever seen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've read a couple reviews here complaining about the ice maker. I concur. Horrible design. the Engineer responsible for this abortion should be fired...or better yet, forced to travel to world to fix them all. The problem is as follows: the water tube freezes. no water, no ice. They thought it would be a great idea to put a vent directly over the ice to make ice faster...NOPE. Really poor design. I've had to block the vent, so the ice maker works for a week or a little mnore. After about a week, I have to use a hair dryer to melt out the plugged water tube. If I don't block the vent, I'll get maybe a couple days before its frozen again. As a fridge..works like every other fridge, I suppose. I hate french doors and side-by-sides, so I'm stuck with this. I am an engineer, myself, and I can't imagine letting somehting like this out the door. I doubt they even tested the design. Just another example of a company getting comfortable at the top.

The need for the slide out bottom freezer was crucial for our situation. We have had zero problems with this unit and are so happy with the purchase. We are upset we cannot use the icemaker but that is due to access in the home all and all this refrigerator I highly recommend.

Awful quality

Very loud and temperature has fluctuated too much. Compressor also broke in year 5 AND year 6. Not worth the labor repair costs and ruined food every year.

Ice Cubes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought home 3 months ago. Home is connected to city water. Ice Cubes are yellow. Figured could have been from non use but have emptied and refilled repeatedly, still the same. Do not see anywhere on appliance or in manual where there would be a filter. Guess just can't use icemaker which is a shame.

Good mechanically, poor shelving and drawers

Mechanically this unit has run well however, the interior shelving and drawers have failed under normal usage. Shelving has cracked and drawers have broken/cracked as well.

Not worth the frustration.

I am on year 7 of what is a good looking refrigerator and was exactly what I was looking for BUT, the first compressor failed in less than a year and now 6 years later the unit is doing the exact same thing it did the first time. For a second time in 7 years I have lost a large amount of food and living out of ice chests. I wished I had never laid eyes on this refrigerator. It was my first LG appliance and after this experience I doubt I would buy anything from LG again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator a few years ago and it has served me well. Having the freezer on the bottom is very handy. I especially like the way the butter keeper on the door folds up to accommodate very tall bottles.
