All the basic features

I am enjoying my new GE microwave oven. It has all the features needed for everyday use. It looks great over my stove and the fit was perfect. I didnt give it 5 stars because there is a tinny sound when opening and closing the door.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It’s too big.

The door doesn’t close quietly at all. It closes with a third. I did purchase it sight unseen.

Big Black Box

This replaced the comparable 2009 model, which worked but had a cracked handle and interior paint started bubbling off when wiped down. I remember in 2009 saying the new microwave didn’t feel as solid as the comparable GE model it was replacing and at first I wasn’t sure of the bottom curvature. In 2021 I said this new one doesn’t feel as solid as the old one and I prefer the bottom curvature instead of the big big box look. It’s actually the same microwave, they just removed the front facing grill vent which made the door less high thereby sleeker and rearranged all the buttons you had memorized on the old one. I absolutely hate replacing appliances. The newer models are always uglier and shoddier.

I basically chose this black stainless microwave to blend in with the refrigerator I recently purchased. I like the ease in which the door opens.

This also is a Builder supplied appliance and we were thinking it was going to be a Performa line and are disappointed since we previously have had one. This one is noisy to us when compared to other brands and GE models.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As expected, install was easy and function is good

I replaced a 16 year old GE microwave with a new GE microwave. I could have repaired the old one but the new one looks so much better with the stainless front. Picked it up at a bug box store and installed it with a hand from my wife. Super simple install. The new microwave has a bit higher output (1000 watt). It works great and my wife is happy.
