We're so sorry to know that your microwave is not heating and certainly understand how devestating that is. If your microwave runs but is not heating, there could be one of many components that is not working properly.
Please make sure the “Timer” function was not inadvertently used.
Check to ensure the door is closed securely. Open the door and close it firmly. This confirms the engagement of the door's safety mechanisms.
For safety reasons, we offer no do-it-yourself repair advice on microwave ovens. There is an internal high voltage capacitor which can hold a high voltage charge even after the microwave has been unplugged. Also, special equipment is generally needed to make a diagnosis for the repair needed.
If the above suggestions do not solve the problem and the microwave still won't heat, we recommend contacting service. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

Replacement microwave

Old OTR GE microwave (10-11 yrs old) had better button arrangement and fan was quieter.

Nice microwave

Great little microwave. Works well. Just two minor annoyances: First, you need to reset the clock after a power outage. There’s no reason at this point in time that GE cannot build a microwave that remembers the time. Second, most microwaves have a steel top in the interior cooking chamber that facilitates the attachment of a magnetic food splash cover. This one doesn’t, so I have to keep it a separate cabinet. Not as convenient.

A Bit Disappointed

I needed a microwave fast and chose the one that fit best in my current budget and was immediately available. Closing the door sounds cheap and tinny. Also, I have to press very hard to get the various feature options to operate. Definitely not kind to the touch. The bottom line is it works.
