Main control board died

We had this microwave and it died after a few years of service. We don’t use the microwave very often so I was really disappointed with GE and the product. Unfortunately we had to replace with a comparable unit so it would match the other appliances. The new microwave is so flimsy and cheaply made that we hate it. It’s terrible. The door is wobbly, the turn table is noisy, and the digital display looks like a kids toy. Hate all of it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wrong mounting screws

The screws sent in the installation hardware packet to attach the microwave to an upper cabinet are not what is specified in the installation manual. On top of that they are not flat head screws. They have a dome head which obstructs sliding items in and out of the upper cabinet.

I'm done with GE

When I moved to my current home three years ago, I replaced all of my appliances and all but the dishwasher was a GE product. This microwave quit heating. My last microwave lasted over 20 years. Very disappointed in this microwave and with the electric stove purchased at the same time. The stove is poorly designed - unable to use the back burners for anything but small saucepans, can't use pots as the control panel sticks out over the burners, the oven takes forever to preheat, is not to temperature when it says it's preheated and does not reach stated temperature even after calibrating. Very disappointed in GE. Now ISO a more reliable brand.
