Excellent microwave for the money

We liked our old one so much that we just purchased the same model. It installed with only minor modifications. This has been a really solid unit for us and it gets heavy use.

The panel directions are easy to see and read even in evening light in the kitchen. We love the display white backlighting for the timer that can be easily seen from the family room. The door handle design provides a secure hand grip. This grip is better than the curved shape handle that sometimes actually catch my little finger.

It worked great until it didn’t! Incredibly frustrating and it’s been weeks trying to get it fixed with the warranty.

Disappointed in Connecticut

This is a typical GE microwave, but I am a bit disappointed with this model (This unit replaces another GE unit 1.8 cu ft). This particular model does not have a night light feature (which I thought I checked in the specs), but it does have a Reset Filter option (really who cares about that). The beeper volume, even on loud, is not loud at all. This is apparent when using the timer feature and in another room. Why is the over the stove lighting still inadequate? At this point these should be LED and very bright. Also why did they change from the typical numeric keypad to the linear keypad? Also can GE standardize on a mounting method. I have owned several GE microwaves and now the bottom of my upper cabinet looks like swiss cheese with some many old holes that almost line up.
I would recommend this to a friend!
