I have not had problems with my GE microwaves besides old age. I use mine for cooking, defrosting, and reheating food at every meal.

Came with our new home in December 2019

We have had similar GE microwaves in the past and were disappointed that the popcorn button stopped working soon after. We just used the 2 minute setting. In two months it will be three years since we moved into our new home and the microwave has stopped working altogether.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
